GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES JANAM ASHTHMI



Janamashtami was celebrated with religious fervour at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The School campus looked beautiful with young toddlers dressed up as Radha, Krishna, Mirabai, Vasudeva, Yashodha etc. There was an aura of divinity all around with bhajans of Radha – Krishna resounding everywhere. Mesmerising dances depicting the life of Lord Krishna were performed. A wonderful show depicting the various stages of Lord Krishna’s life was put up by the students. A jhoola decked up with flowers with Bal Gopal inside was the centre of attraction.

The Chairman cum Director of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Mrs. Usha Rudhra,  President of the Trust  Dr. Shabhad Rudhra, Dr. Vijeyata Rudhra , Mr. Rahul Bir Dr, Shivnagi , Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher and Principal   Dr. Jyoti Pujara  performed the Puja ceremony. The staff and students sang ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ in unison. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Green Land schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that two things are necessary to achieve any milestone in life i.e. IQ and presence of mind. While expatiating Aarti “OM Jai Jagdish” to the students he said “OM” is the creator of this world. He also told that India is a great land of saint and sages which has witnessed the birth of Lord Krishna, Lord Rama and many great Gurus and Saints. He also inspired the students to have deep knowledge about their country and religion. Enlightening the students about ‘The Mahabharata and The Ramayana’ he said that these are our two holy scripts without which we are incomplete.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher highlighted Lord Krishna’s Theory of Karma. She also said that    one should always indulge in good deeds as one has to bear the fruit of his/her actions. 

 

GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL HOLD INVESTITURE CEREMONY FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20



“Leaders are the role models who inspire the followers & motivate them to reach the pinnacle of the success.” Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Ludhiana, structured Investiture Ceremony for academic year 2019-20 in Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium.  Ansh Sikka of XII Com was bestowed  the title of Senior Head Boy and Nimrat Suman of XII Com. as Senior Head Girl. The house captains, the sports captains, the discipline captains and all the prefects were the other members of the student Council. The students were given sashes and badges by the Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and the Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher. The Principal administered the oath to the student council . She reminded them that they are the torch bearers of the values that the school stands for and urged them to take up the responsibility with commitment and integrity.

 

RAKHI MAKING COMPETITION HELD AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL


With a view to strengthen the bond of love between brothers and sisters, an intersection rakhi making and thali decoration competition was held amongst the students of class I to V of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School. All students enthusiastically participated in making colourful rakhis and decorating thalis for the much awaited occasion. The best rakhis were displayed on the display boards. The creativity of the students was commendable. The section adjudged best are – I Bacon, II Keats, III Pope, IV Keats & V Bacon.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, applauded the efforts put in by the students.

 

TEEJ CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL



Teej was celebrated with a great festive fervour by the senior girls of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The girls looked charmingly beautiful while flaunting traditional Punjabi outfits, colourful phulkaries, parandis, Patiala shahis and juttis along with traditional Punjabi ornaments. They performed Giddha, staged Tarinjhans and danced to the tunes of popular folk songs with great gusto. They also relished Kheer Puras and other traditional Punjabi cuisines.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher extended warm wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Teej. She said that Teej is an occasion to celebrate our age old glorified heritage and culture.

 

STUDENTS OF GREEN LAND PAY HOMAGE TO SHAHEED UDHAM SINGH



Remembering the sacrifices of a great National hero Shaheed Udham Singh, the students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana paid their respect to the great martyr of the nation by offering petals. The students were told about the ardent love that Udham Singh carried in his heart for his country and countrymen. He saw the massacre of Jallianwala Bagh at a very young age and took a pledge to avenge the bloodshed. He sacrificed his life for the country.

Observing the martyrdom of Shaheed Udham Singh, the Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that the sacrifice and life story of all the martyrs give inspiration to the youth of all times. She told the students that they should draw inspiration from such National heroes and never hesitate to stand by their Nation whenever or whatever the need be.

 

GREEN LAND SR. SEC PUBLIC SCHOOL CHESS PLAYERS BAGGED GOLD MEDALS IN LUDHIANA SAHODAYA SCHOOL COMPLEX CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP


In Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Chess Championship which was held at Ryan International School, Dugri Ludhiana on 27th July,2019, Green Land  Sr. Sec. Public School  Chess  players won gold medals  in various categories.

SOHAM BAGGAN AND MANNATPREET OF GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL SELECTED BY LDCA IN U-14 CRICKET TEAM FOR REGIONAL COACHING CENTRE RCC)


In the Cricket trials which were conducted by LDCA at GRD Academy, Hambra Road, Ludhiana to select the probables for Regional Coaching Centre ( Rcc) and for Mahajan Trophy Tournament to be conducted by LDCA, in which near about 170 aspirants participated. Soham Baggan and Mannatpreet of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School have been selected for the same.

Students At Green Land Sr.Sec Public School Pay Homage To Kargil Martyrs



The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana commemorated 20th Kargil Victory  Day by reminding  everyone about the sacrifices done by Indian Armed Forces to ensure that we sleep in peace in our homes. The students lit candles and pledged that they would never hesitate to sacrifice their lives whenever there would be a call from Nation.  Remembering the sacrifices of brave soldiers and armed forces protecting the country at the border, filled the students with patriotic feelings. An Intersection Punjabi Declamation Contest was organised for the students of IX std. where they spoke on various topics like –“ Aaho Shaheeda nu Yaad Karea”, Salam Veer Shaheeda Nu”.

On the 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas,  our school 3 Punjab Battalion NCC Cadets paid special homage to the martyrs of Kargil in which they took oath to safe guard their country from internal and external exigencies.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher  in her address enthused the students to be grateful for the great sacrifices of soldiers.  They should never forget the sacrifice of the  martyrs as any nation that forgets its martyrs never flourishes . She also told that our martyrs are real heroes and we should make them our ideals.

The Result of Punjabi Declamation Contest: Divyanshi & Aarav from IX Pope stood first, Suhana from IX Keats bagged the second prize and Gauravpreet Singh from IX Chaucer won the third prize.

Deepanjali Sharma of III Keats was declared the ‘Teej Queen’ , Ryan from IV Chaucer was adjudged as Mr. Punjab and Kripa Rudhra of V Bacon won the ‘Miss Punjaban’ contest.

The Principal of the school Mrs. BaldeepPandher said that such festivals are important as they go a long way to keep the customs and traditions alive.

TINY TOTS CELEBRATE TEEJ AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL





Teej was celebrated with great zeal and exuberance in Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The students from P.Nsy. to II attired in beautiful traditional outfits, dazzled everyone with their radiant smiles. The swings were decorated with flowers. Little ‘Mutiars’ and ‘Gabrus’ enjoyed Giddha and Bhangra, relished kheer, Maal Puras, and other sweet dishes. Paarushi from K.G. Penguin was declared as Teej Queen whereas Harshit Nanda from K.G. Skylark was adjudged as Mr. Punjab. Tia Bhatt from Pre Nsy. was adjudged as Ms. Punjaban.

The school Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher inspired the students to celebrate such festivals to preserve their rich culture and tradition.

 

TREE PLANTATION AND AFFORESTATION RALLY WAS ORGANISED IN GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL


In order to restore Eco balance, Afforestation rally and tree plantation drive was taken out by 3 Punjab Battalion NCC Cadets of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Ludhiana, on the 3rd day of Van Mahotsav Week i.e. 17th July, 2019. 106 NCC Cadets participated in the drive in which they spread the message of ‘Save Trees & Save Earth’. The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher , along with staff & students planted saplings in the school campus. The students from I to XII were encouraged to plant trees in their surrounding and click selfie’s with it.

An Inter class Poster Making Competition was also organised for the students of class XI & XII. The students showcased their perceptions to Save Environment from pollution and other damages through their creativity.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher emphasized on the importance of tree plantation drives. She said,  “We should realise that trees are an effective way to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. We are celebrating it as a festival of life and are trying to invoke maximum number of students in the drive.” She also said that we at Green Land understand, appreciate and value our greengold (environment) . It is important that this precious gift is nurtured, preserved & reserved for the next generation.

The Result of Poster Making Competition: Shreya from XII Science stood first, Muskan from XI Arts bagged second prize and Neha from XI Commerce won the third prize. Khushi from XI Sci.  got the consolation prize.

 

WORLD POPULATION DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC.PUBLIC SCHOOL




The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana showed their concern for the grim problem of population explosion, by observing World Population Day. In the assembly, the students were enlightened about various factors and effects of over population.  They were also made aware about the endless health problems and also apprised everyone of the fact that resources are being depleted at a rapid pace due to increasing demand of the growing population. Many suggestions were also put forth to control over population.

An Inter House Poster Making Competition was held for the students of class IX-XII in which they showcased the consequences of over population that includes food and water shortage, war & social conflict & depletion of natural resources.

A rally was also organised by NCC Cadets 3 Punjab Battalion , NCC , Ludhiana, in which 133 cadets  including senior and junior wings participated and raised slogans against over population.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher  emphasized on the need to curb menance of over population for the future generations to relish the available resources. She also said that no developmental programme initiated by government can be successful unless there is control and check on over population.

Result of Poster Making Competition- Vinil Rai- XII Arts from Shakti House stood first, Tammana - XII Commerce from Jyoti House bagged second prize and Charu Malhotra – IX Milton  from Kirti House & Gourav – XI Arts   from Jagriti House  won third prize. Jeevanjot – XI Arts from Shakti House  got the consolation prize.

 

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND



Green Land Sr. Sec. Public school, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana organized the International Yoga Day on its premises to make the students aware about the age long practice of Yoga. All the students of senior wing performed various aasanas under the aegis of proficient mentors. Everybody was anxious to absorb the apt cognizance narrated and displayed by the yoga experts. An aura of spiritual meditation with pure vibration touched the mind and soul of all the pupils . It was an expression of meaningful existence in terms of how enthusiastic one can be to tackle the grim situation in one’s life. The traditional perception of yoga gurus reminded everyone about the secrets of fitness and long life of all the saints and seers.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and the school Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, through their enlightening messages, appreciated the efforts of the students and staff and encouraged them for regular yoga practice for stress- free life , strong immunity and harmony in the society to promote healthy living.

A TEN - DAY LONG SUMMER CAMP CULMINATED




A 10 day - long Summer Camp at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public school, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana concluded at a high note amid fun and frolic. With great zeal 200 students of class II to IX participated in a wide array of activities like Painting and Art & Craft (Rangoli/ Flower Arrangement/Soft Toys), Embroidery/ Stitching, Dance (Western/Folk), Music(Instrumental)/Vocal), Cooking, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Karate, Table Tennis, Badminton etc. to explore new dimensions in various spheres of life. The students showcased their learning aptitude with the help of experts and coaches. The motto of the camp was to give vent to the inexplicable aptitude and attitude through apt path with an authentic guidance.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the efforts of the students and encouraged the budding artists/players to trudge the distinct ways to concede their latent talent for their holistic growth in future ahead.

CKC Punjab State Karate Championship 2019 which was organized by Cobra Karate Centre ,Jalandhar, Punjab , in which approx. 200 karate kas participated from different districts of Punjab. Vinay of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass , won Gold Medal in junior category and brought laurels to the school.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL HOLDS THE SELECTION OF NCC CADETS ( GIRLS FOR SENIOR WING) FOR 2019-20



The selection of students for the registration as NCC cadets for the session 2019-20 was conducted today at Green Land Sr.Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. Under the supervision of Colonel Harmanjeet Singh and Admn. Officer Col. Arvind Rishi, 3rd Punjab Battalion NCC, selection of Senior Wing was done. Highlighting the importance of NCC Mr. Singh told about the objectives & mission of NCC. He also told the importance of being a part of NCC. He advised them to imbibe the values of discipline and harmony. The enrolment of the students was done by Subedar Gurmeet Singh and A.N.O. Kulwinder Singh on the basis of physical fitness and oral viva of the students. Around 30 girls were selected for Senior Wing 2019-20.

Mrs.BaldeepPandher, Principal of the school, impressed upon leading a disciplined life and inspired the students to be a part of NCC.

COMMERCE QUIZ AND TOPIC PRESENTATION ON ‘ART INTEGRATED TEACHING’ HELD AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL



An Inter Class Commerce Quiz and topic presentations were organized for the students of class XII at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. After conducting a preliminary round in the classes 04 best teams comprising of 8 to 10 students were selected from each section.

Wonderful Topic Presentations were also prepared by the students in which they show cased their talent through role plays to highlight the importance of ‘Art Integrated Teaching’ on various topics of Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy like Money, Credit Creation, Management as Art, Functional Foremanship and Share Forfeiture. The students of Political Science gave presentation on ‘Electoral System of India’.

There were number of rounds for the team and the audience as well. This kept the interest of the students alive. The students were well prepared and their enthusiasm could be well judged by their quick replies.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and praised the teachers who prepared the students for the quiz and topic presentations. She added that Art Integrated Education is not only to make the learning process joyful, but it also lends to imbibing a greater appreciation and understanding of the art form being utilized for this purpose.

The result is as follows:-First prize was bagged by Yuvraj, Vanshika, Shagun Jain & Kumkum Chaudhary from XII Commerce B, second prize was bagged by Manvi,Nikita, Shagun Sahdev & Simardeep Singh of XII Commerce A and the third prize was won by Parul Banyal, Jaskaran, Ritika and Amritpal of XII Commerce C.

POOL PARTY ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

To beat the heat and to have fun a ‘Splash Pool Party’ was arranged for the students of Kindergarten section of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The day was spiced up with lots of fun as the tiny tots were splendidly dressed up in colourful swimming costumes, glares, hats, flip flops & shades for the pool party. The pool side was decorated with colourful balls, toys and umbrellas. The kids enthusiastically danced, hopped and jumped on different tunes. They had a gala time and tapped their feet on famous rain songs.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the effort made by the teachers in organizing such fun filled activities that add happiness and colour to life.

 

A TALENT HUNT SHOW ALONG WITH MOTHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL




A Talent Hunt Show and Mothers’ Day celebrations were  held at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The students of VI to XII participated in the Talent Show event with great enthusiasm. The students showcased their talent by singing songs, dancing and by performing mono acting. The students were dressed smartly according to their event. They were adjudged on the basis of their presentation and confidence.

The students of class III to V expressed their love and affection for their mothers through  beautiful cards as a token of their love for their mothers which was appreciated by one and all. They sang beautiful songs and poems dedicated to their mothers. Children thanked their mothers for always being there for them and for all the sacrifices they make for their betterment.

The Principal  Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the performance of children and through video clippings conveyed message to the students that they should shower their love and respect on their parents  as they are definitely the truest friend and best guide any child can have. Teaching the lesson of respect, Mrs. Pandher said that nobody can take mother’s place. She said that  Parents and teachers are the living Gods on the earth,  so both should be respected equally. Their blessings can do wonders in a child’s life. Further she  told the students that they must polish their talents and do regular practice besides focussing on studies. She also said that it is the responsibility of the schools and teachers to inculcate aptitude, interest and help children to find out their innate talents.

Singing - The first prize was bagged by Rehan of XII Commerce.  Krishna ( XII Science)  got the second position and  third prize was won by Ravneet Kaur (XII Commerce). Appreciation awards were given to Jaskaran Singh (XII Commerce)  and Khushmeet Kaur ( XI Science) respectively.

Dance  Group I ( VI to VIII) The first prize was bagged by Gurveer Singh of VIII Pope.

Group II ( IX to X) The first prize was bagged by Sanchi Bawa ( IX Milton). Appreciation award was given to Haveena ( X Bacon).

Group III ( XI) The first prize was bagged by Akshit ( XI Science). Rishika  ( XI Commerce)  got the second position and  third prize was won by Ayush Vij (XI Commerce). Appreciation award was given to Khushi Sood  (XI Arts).

Group IV ( XII) The first prize was bagged by Chhavi ( XII Commerce) & Danish ( XII Science). Rachna  ( XII Commerce)  got the second position and  third prize was won by Bhumika  & Nidhanshi of (XII Commerce) . Appreciation awards were given to Damian ( XII Sci. ) & Manya ( XII Commerce) respectively.

Acting :- Anurag from XII Commerce got Best Acting Award.

Poster Making Competition:- The first prize was bagged by Shreya (XII). Ashima (XI)   got the second position and  third prize was won by Malaika of XI. Appreciation awards were given to Adityam ( XII ) & Janvi ( XI ) respectively.

 

GREEN LAND SENIOR SECONDARY PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVED NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY


National Technology Day was observed at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School to commemorate technological breakthrough and advancement . A Poster Making  Competition was held wherein the students of XI Science  made beautiful posters and highlighted the importance of this day. They  presented charts on various topics such as nanotechnology, biogenetics, flight to Mars, technical advancement in agriculture and industries.

 Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the school, Mrs.Baldeep Pandher said that the development in Science and Technology has made India receive global acknowledgement. Observing this day provides inspiration to the young generation which plays a major role in shaping the country’s future. She also said that the vision to become a Super Power and developed Nation is possible only when we   promote Science and Technology.

In Poster Making Competition-Prabhneet Kaur  of XI Non Medical stood first, Jasleen Kaur of XI Science bagged second prize and Yashika Sharma of XI Science  won third prize.

YUVRAJ BABBAR OF GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL BAGGED 1ST POSITION IN PUNJABI FOLK SONG ( SOLO) COMPETITION


Yuvraj Babbar student of class IX from Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, won first prize in Punjabi Folk Song ( Solo) Competition held at Guru Nanak Public School, Ludhiana during the Science Fest, 2019 on May 4, 2019. Giving tough competition to almost 35 singers from different reputed CBSE Schools of Ludhiana, he emerged out to be the winner. The judgement of the competition was based on Sur, Tal and Costume. The students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana also participated in other events like Quiz, Power point Presentation and Poster Making and showcased their talent.

The Principal Mrs.Baldeep Pandher applauded the efforts of all the participants who participated in one day science fest. She said participating in such competitions is very important and as well as an integral part of learning process so students should participate in such activities.

 

EXCELLENT BOARD RESULT OF CLASS X OF GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL, LUDHIANA


The students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana came out with flying colours in the CBSE Board Result-2019 of class X. Total 218 students who appeared for the examination gave cent percent result. 37 students scored above 90 % in aggregate. Many students scored perfect 100 in various subjects. All students passed the exam with excellent marks.

GRADUATION CEREMONY OF KINDERGARTEN HELD AT GREEN LAND




The Graduation Ceremony of K.G. section was held in the school Auditorium(Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium) at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The little graduates were looking impressive in their gowns and caps as they bade their sweet good byes to their pre-primary teachers who helped them get through their years of informal learning. The function commenced with a ‘Ganesh Vandana’ followed by wonderful dance performances which set the stage on fire. K.G. children shared their joyous experience of the past 3 years. The Chief Guest of the day, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools was accorded a floral welcome by the Principal of the school.

The students were awarded degrees by the Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and Principal, Mrs.Baldeep Pandher.The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra conveyed his heartfelt felicitations. Speaking on the occasion he said that whatever the parents want their children to be, there is only one way and that is by supporting the school and the teachers. Without the support of the parents, the teachers at school can never achieve the goals they set for their children. He said if parents spend good time with their children, it will help children to come out with flying colours. Condemning over doze of entertainment through mobile phone, social media, he said that addiction of gadgets is bad for proper development of the children.

The Principal Mrs.Baldeep Pandher congratulated the parents and students of kindergarten. She appreciated the efforts put in by the staff and students for their hard work and dedication for making the event a memorable one. She said that giving quality time to the children is pre-requisite in their upbringing. She highlighted the importance of reading story books to children. She said that Parenting is a big responsibility & parents should set example and be the role models for the children. She also said that never compensate time with materialistic things. Discipline your children from the very beginning.

Green Land Knights win 1st R.L. Rudhra Memorial One Day Cricket Series




The boys of Green Land School, Ludhiana  proved their mettle in the finals of  1st R.L. Rudhra Memorial One Day Cricket  Series which was  held at Green Land Sports Stadium at Manj Phagowal, Ludhiana on 5th April, 2019. The lads defeated Sehwag International School in the finals by 16 runs.

Rohan, Moksh, Kavya & Bharat  and other players of Green Land School put up a scintillating performance and took the team to victory.

The boys from Green Land School first came to bat and set a target of 108 runs on the score board. The Sehwag International School boys, found it difficult to chase the target as the rivals had a good fielding.

Rohan Handa player of  Green Land Knights  was declared Man of the Match & Man of the Series.

Green Land School  Ludhiana team won the match by 16 runs.

The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra along with the President Mr. Shabad Rudhra ,Principals Mrs. Baldeep Pandher and Mrs. Jyoti Pujara felicitated the players. Winning trophies and medals were given to the Green Knights and the students of Sehwag International School, Haryana got the medals and Runners up Trophy.

The Chairman of the School, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra gave a cash prize of Rs.1000/- to the  lone student, Sarvottam of Green Land School, who hit sixer.  

The coaches of both the teams ( Mr. Deepak Thapa , Mr. Ravi Kumar & Mr. Parmod Kumar) and  empires( Mr. Jatin and Mr. Rehan) were also felicitated for their efforts in making this tournament a success.

STORY TELLING COMPETITION AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL




A Story Telling Competition was held at Green Land Sr.  Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana for the students of grade I to III to  enable them to improve their ability to communicate their thoughts and feelings in an effective way.

The students actively participated in the competition and used different kinds of props and models to narrate their stories. The expressions, dialogues and voice modulations used by students to narrate their stories help them to develop emotionally and gain a better sense of self esteem. It was a day of fun ‘n’ frolic and students enjoyed to their heart’s content. The stories narrated by  Suryansh, Har Uday, Vyan, Hank Raj and Gurkirat of Class I, Jhanvi and Madhav of Class II, Aarush, Pir Jaza and Prachi of Class III were commendable.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that such kind of competitions played a crucial role in the personal, social and emotional development of the students thus improving their speaking skills and instilling confidence in them.

They all narrated  the stories confidentally showing their beautiful and attractive props and enacting for the same .

BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL


The Students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, welcomed the Spring Season with great enthusiasm. Children of the K.G. wing looked stunning dressed up in yellow attire. The students worshipped Goddess Saraswati & Lord Brahma to whom the festival of spring is dedicated. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told about the significance of yellow colour on this day & dedication of this day to the Goddess of learning. She felicitated the students on the occasion. The staff and the students paid obeisance to Goddess Saraswati and chanted ‘Saraswati Mantra’. Junior students dressed up as flowers danced to the tunes of Basant songs and relished yellow dishes

 

SOLO DANCE COMPETITION HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL



A Solo Dance Competition was held for the students of I to V . Almost 25 students from various sections participated enthusiastically in the competition. Dressed at their best, the students danced to the tunes of popular bollywood numbers. The students had a gala time as it proved to be a happy and joyful experience for one and all. Vyan, Triman, Ananya, Aditya, Kripa Rudhra, Balraj, Srishti, Kanan were adjudged the best performers of the day. The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher congratulated the winners and appreciated the enthusiasm and endeavour of the students.

GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL SHOOTERS BAG GOLD AND BRONZE IN THE 5TH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OF UNITED INDIA GAMES-2019 AT JALANDHAR


In the United India Games Association 5th National Championship Organised by Sanyukta  Bhartiya  Khel Foundation which was   held at P.A.P Shooting Range Jalandhar, Punjab from 29 Jan. to 31 Jan. 2019,for  boys and girls  respectively wherein number of shooters from various schools of Punjab participated. Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass Shooters bagged gold and bronze medals in different categories.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC PUBLIC SCHOOL PAYS HOMAGE TO MAHATMA GANDHI ON HIS DEATH ANNIVERSARY


Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass  Ludhiana paid homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji on his 71st death anniversary today. The principal, staff and students paid floral tribute to  Bapu Ji. On the occasion faculty members and students presented speeches on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The music choir of the school chanted the song “ Raghu Pati Raghav” in his remembrance. Later, the students, teachers and administrative staff of the school observed two minutes silence and took pledge to follow the path of truth and Non-violence .

Paying homage to our father of Nation Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher recalled  selfless services and sacrifices given by him for the honour and dignity of the nation. She termed him an apostle of peace and harmony whose simplicity was his strength along with truth and non-violence. She also told the students to imbibe his teachings in their lives which is the need of hour.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES REPUBLIC DAY





The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at  Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass  Ludhiana. Today’s occasion was specifically graced by Padamshri  Shri Vijay Chopra Ji, the Chief Editor of Punjab Kesari Group, as Chief Guest.  The celebrations began with the ceremonial Flag hoisting by  Shri Vijay Chopra Ji,  Mr. Shabad Rudhra, the  President of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Vijayata Rudhra  and Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher. A guard of honour was accorded  by N.C.C Cadets of Green Land School under 3 Punjab Battalion. The students  brought the stage alive with their passion and love for their motherland through patriotic songs and dances. A play on Fundamental Rights and Duties invoke the spirit  of the Nationalism among the audience.  Thereupon, the Band team and NCC Cadets were awarded prizes for their excellent performances. The students bowed in allegiance to the brave freedom fighter who laid their lives for the motherland. The students dressed up in hues of Tricolour spread about the message of peace and harmony which is the   need of the hour.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shabad Rudhra said that we acquired our freedom after thousands of sacrifices over the period of many hundred years. Republic Day is a National festival which is celebrated unanimously by the people of all religions. He said that we must safeguard our freedom from all social vices. Today, we must acknowledge and remember all soldiers who protect us .He also said that  only a great citizen can make a great nation.

Padamshri Shri Vijay Chopra Ji acknowledged the endeavour of teachers in Nation building . He paid rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi Ji who played an instrumental role in bringing back the glory of Nation which was under the Britishers. He congratulated the children that they are born in free and prospering Nation. So, they should serve their own country rather than immigrating to other countries.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher implored the students to love their country and work towards its progress selflessly. The students took a pledge that they will always stand by their country during the times of need and   create a beautiful India free from corruption, crime and social vices. The function concluded with the pledge “Aae Vatan , Aae Vatan , Hum Ko Teri Kasam …..”.

 

SHORT SPEECH COMPETITION AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC.PUBLIC SCHOOL




Laying special emphasis on spoken English and confidence building, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School Jal Bye Pass organised a ‘SHORT SPEECH COMPETITION’ for the classes Pre-Nsy and Nsy. The students carried the props related to their topics - My Mother & My Country and performed confidently. All students were awarded appreciation certificates.

The Principal of the school Mrs.Baldeep Pandher appreciated the students for putting their best foot forward and participating with zeal and enthusiasm. She appreciated the staff for organizing such activities to bring out the best in each child. She further told the students about the importance of public speaking.

 

SEMINAR ON CYBER CRIME HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC PUBLIC SCHOOL,Ldh.


In order to create and increase awareness on cyber crime, a seminar was held at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana on 18th January, 2019. The seminar started in the presence of Mr. Lakhbir Singh ACP, North Ludhiana and Mr. Vijay Kumar SHO along with Dr. Rajesh Rudhra Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Madam Richa Rani, Sub Inspector officer, who was the resource person, drew attention towards the increase in cyber crime. Cyber stalling, cell phone  stalling, the activities of cyber cell, the common crimes reported, theft cyber code, cyber terrorism, hacking of websites and bank accounts, pornography , social media abuse, cyber offense through smart phone etc. were the topics discussed in the seminar. The students of class IX-XII were also educated on how to make use of cyber cell whenever they are in need.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of the school Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that his motive behind organizing this seminar was not only to bring awareness among the students but also to save every Greenknight from getting trapped in any crime especially related to computers. He also said that adolescents find it very difficult to differentiate between good and bad, so he stressed that awareness on this issue should be created by both parents and teachers.

Mrs. Baldeep Pandher , the principal of the school briefed the audience that technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master. So, we should wisely make use of social media and tech advanced gadgets.

 

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF GURU GOBIND SINGH JI CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND



Shri Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm at Green Land Sr. Sec.Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. A Satsang was organised . The entire school campus reverberated with devotional shabads “Mitar Piyaree Nu” and “Deh Shiva Bar Mohe”. The students were given an insight into the life of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, his teachings and philosophy. On the occasion the teachers and the students from all the branches of Green Land Schools presented Kirtan and Bhajans. Guru Ka Langar was also organised which was relished by more than 500 devotees.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that without Almighty’s grace we can’t enjoy any blessings. On such auspicious day we must seek His blessings and follow His sermons to lead our life with true mission. Remembering the sacrifices of tenth Guru, he said that we should face all oddities of life bravely, surrendering it to the will of God.

The Principal Mrs.Baldeep Pandher highlighted the teachings of our Dashmesh Guru Sh. Guru Gobind Singh Ji. FLORAL TRIBUTES PAID TO THE FOUNDER PRESIDENT OF GREEN LAND SCHOOLS, LDH., SH. RAM LABHAYA RUDHRA ON HIS 25th DEATH ANNIVERSARY


Rich floral tributes were paid by the staff and students of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Ludhiana to the Founder President of Green Land Schools, Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra on his 25th Death Anniversary. Speaking on the occasion Chairman Sh. Rajesh Rudhra said that Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra was an honest police officer who was awarded 03 gold medals for his honesty and bravery. During his tenure he proved his mettle by solving gravest problems and always stood victorious by executing exemplary courage. He went on to tell that he was the only police officer who was awarded thrice for his honesty and valiance.

Remembering the founder, the Principal Ms. Baldeep Pandher said that he was a pious soul who was a follower of the holy Geeta but later on became a devout follower of Param Sant Kirpal Singh Jee Maharaj. He had a deep knowledge of Bhagwat Geeta and Gurbani. During his later years he became a preacher of Sant Mat. His dream was to establish Institutions of par excellence with a difference and this dream came through his son Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, who set up Green Land schools with his father’s inspiration and guidance.

He may have departed physically but his spirit of righteousness, goodness, honesty and integrity remains with us in our day to day work and all endeavours.

 

NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL



Colourful celebrations marked the beginning of 2019 at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The school was tastefully decorated with New Year banners and balloons. The students were in a jubilant mood after the winter break. A Solo Dance Competition was held on the occasion in which as many as 20 students from class VIII participated. Dressed at their best the students danced to the tunes of popular dance numbers.

Wishing happy and prosperous year, the Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that students must work hard and remain focused on their goals to attain success. At the same time they should remain in touch with their age old customs and traditions. She also appreciated the enthusiasm and endeavour of the students.

Gungun of VIII Pope bagged the first prize, Sanchi of VIII Milton stood second whereas Naina of VIII Bacon grabbed the third prize.

 

ALUMNI MEET 2018 HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL, Ldh.



An Annual Re-Union Meet was held at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School today. Over 200 students who have made their mark in various fields after graduating from school were present. The Alumni Meet started with the tradition of lighting the lamp by Dr. Rajesh Rudhra Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools followed by welcome song which mesmerized everyone. The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher welcomed the Alumni and their families. She appreciated their zeal to assemble here despite their busy schedules. She apprised them of the achievements of the school in sports, academic and the cultural arena. She also outlined many future activities to be undertaken by the school Management.

The students felt emotional during the PPT which highlighted the glimpse of 27 yrs of journey of the school. A cultural show was put up by the students of Green Land School for the alumni’s. Next online was the turn of the old students who came up to the stage and felicitated the dignitaries and teachers who taught them. The old students rocked the dance floor on DJ tunes. The meet ended with attractive feast for the students and the guests present there.  

Speaking on the occasion the Chairman cum Director said that he is proud of the fact that all the Green Knights are doing very well socially and economically. He further added that dedication, hard work and loyality towards one’s work is the only mantra for success.

The principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher expressed her gratitude to all the alumni who made the day special with their presence.

As a token of love the alumni were presented mementos by the Chairman Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, President Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Madam Usha Rudhra, Director Dr. Vijayata Rudhra and Principal Mrs Baldeep Pandher. The formal function ended with sumptuous dinner and with the promise to meet again.

Today, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited observed National Energy Conservation Day at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Pearl Makkar of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana bagged First Prize in English Declamation Competition in which approx 15 schools from Ludhiana participated.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVES MARTYRDOM DAY OF SHRI GURU TEG BAHADUR


Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was observed with great devotion today at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The students and staff paid obeisance to the Guru by singing hymns in the praise of Almighty. The students were told about the sacrifice of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Rich tributes were paid to Bhai Mati Dass Ji, Bhai Sati Dass Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji who were martyred one day before the martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

Speaking on the occasion Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher advised the students that they should seek inspiration from the Great Guru, who was also known as ‘Hind Di Chaddar’. INDIAN ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND


Indian Armed Forces Flag Day was observed in Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, today to honour the soldiers, Navy sailors, airmen and coastal guards of our country INDIA. It was enthusiastically observed by the students of the school intending to pay tribute to the courageous and martyred soldiers and pay gratitude to those brave hearts who are guarding the honour of India.

The students of the school made flags representing the three forces. They also highlighted the history and modulations which has taken in the respective flags from time to time. The students were made aware about the foundation and working of Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The students were also informed about the different ways in which they salute.

The principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded and appreciated the students for their zeal and enthusiasm. She motivated the students to choose this profession as their career and emphasized the need of discipline and sacrifice which is the hallmark of our Indian Armed Forces. She also encouraged the students to act bravely and always be ready to make any kind of sacrifice for the country.

 

INDIAN NAVY DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL


Indian Navy Day was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Byepass Ludhiana on 4th Dec., 2018 to pay tribute to the courage and determination of the Indian Navy and also to celebrate its achievements. The students were told about the important role of navy in securing the marine borders as well as for the betterment of International relations via joint exercises, humanitarian missions & calamity relief among others.  They were also told the story of Indian Navy behind the heroism that brought victory to India in the Indo-Pakistan war.

The students of Class VII and VIII spoke on the contribution of Navy and  recited poems dedicated to the Indian Navy.

Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Principal of the school applauded the efforts of the students and encouraged the students to join Armed Forces of the Nation as it is also one of the best ways to serve country.

 

SEMINAR ON AIDS HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL


World AIDS Day was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana today, on the Theme ‘Know Your Status” to raise awareness among the students to the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. A seminar was organised for the students of class XII where Dr. Anit Kaur, HOD of Biology Dept. of the school, emphasized on HIV transmission, staging, stigma, prevention, treatment & role of youth in overcoming stigma and discrimination. A video based on the theme was also shown. The Students of class XI made posters highlighting this issue.

Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Principal while addressing the audience said that it is an opportunity for every community to unite in fight against HIV. Only the light of knowledge about AIDS can get rid of the ignorance, misconception & pain. She also motivated the students to sensitize others about this issue.

The three day Annual Athletic meet organized by Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, concluded with grandeur today. The Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated today with great devotion at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The Students paid obeisance to Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and sang hymns, “ Kal Tarran Guru Nanak Aaya ” with devotion. Tiny tots from P.Nsy. to K.G. came dressed up as Panj Pyaras and Gatka Boys. During the celebrations the students were told about the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They were given the message that – ‘God is One’ and ‘Truth is God and God is Truth’. The school echoed with the Jaap of “ Satnam Waheguru” 

The Principal of the school while wishing ‘Happy Gurupurab’ gave the message to the students that we can get rid of all evils by following the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and for this one must be truthful & honest. She told that love for humanity shunning all superstitious beliefs is the need of the hour. The Students must follow the principles of brotherhood, peace & treat everyone equally irrespective of caste, creed and colour.

 

LINGUISTIC HARMONY DAY CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

To promote awareness of linguistic & cultural diversity and to impart the learning of different languages both native and foreign, Linguistic Harmony Day was celebrated on the 3rd day of the observance of ‘Quami Ekta Week’ i.e. 21st Nov., 2018 at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana.

An Inter class Hindi Declamation was organised by Ved Prachar Mandal in which students from class VII & VIII participated enthusiastically and presented their oratory skills on various topics like – When a language dies, a part of humanity dies, Language A creativity in all its diversity , India of my dreams, Importance of Unity in Diversity.

The day was celebrated to safeguard & preserve mother tongue of every individual. Exposing students to multiple languages enhances their access to people & resources, to better communication & fruitful travel experience.

The school Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that the issue of language preservation rightly deserves priority as language is the most powerful instrument of communication and key in preserving and developing the tangible & intangible heritage of mankind.

NATIONAL INTEGRATION WEEK BEGINS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL


With a view to reinforce the spirit of communal harmony, National Integration and pride in our vibrant composite culture and nationhood the ‘Quami Ekta Week’ begins  at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana.

The students of class X spoke on various topics like “Challenges to national integration’, “Unity In Diversity, ‘India a secular state’, ‘An Incredible India’. Khushneet Kaur and Riya students of class X Keats sang song ‘Mile sur Mera Tumhara’. All the students raised the slogan ‘From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, India is one’.

Applauding the efforts of the students, the principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that in order to achieve National Integration, we must promote unity- a force that blissfully bind the people of the country. She said that economic development and true education is must to foster this feelings. She also said that instilling the sense of belongingness and unity in the mind of children right from their childhood is of utmost importance to promote  the idea of national integration.

 

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS 2018




The students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School , Ludhiana enjoyed Diwali celebrations, today, in a very peaceful and unique way by promoting the idea of ‘No Crackers this Diwali’ . The students were urged not to litter around or pollute the environment. Various competitions were organized in both the junior and senior wings in which the students participated with great vivacity. The students from I-V showcased their festive fervour and ecstasy in Diya decoration, Card Making and Rangoli Making Competitions. The students from I-III decorated their classrooms with hand made crafts. Inter House Rangoli Making Competition was also organized for senior wing. First prize was bagged by Jaspreet & Priya (XII Arts) of Shakti House, second prize was bagged by Kanchan & Simranjeet Kaur ( XII Sci.) of Jyoti House & Yashika & Jasleen ( XII Com.) of Shakti House and the third prize was won by Jaya & Khushi ( XI Com) & Khushi & Jiya (X) of Shakti House. The Principal of school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the concern shown by students towards the environment through their aesthetic creations. VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND



In continuation of the Vigilance Week being observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana from 29th Oct. to 3rd Nov., 2018 a seminar was organised to sensitize the students regarding the corruption prevalent in the society and the measures to curb it. The keynote speakers were Sh. Rupinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Vigilance, Ludhiana , Dr. Neeru Katyal Gupta (PCS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jagraon, and Sh. Jaswinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vigilance, Ludhiana. Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools along with President Mr. Shabad Rudhra and Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher welcomed the Chief Guests, Guest of Honour and other dignitaries.

The function began by invoking Lord Shiva’s blessings followed by the welcome song. A play was presented by the students highlighting the rampant corruption prevalent in the society.

An awareness rally was also taken out by the students in which they carried placards, banners & spread the message “Eradicate Corruption – Build a new India”. They urged the need for loyal leaders, faithful bureaucrats & honest citizens. Students from 6th to 8th also showed their concern by presenting their feelings in the form of posters & slogans. The students of senior classes delivered speeches on the topic – ‘Corruption – A Menace’ , ‘Power doesn’t Corrupt People, People  Corrupt Power’. They also recited beautiful poems on the theme of corruption free society. They highlighted various solutions to combat this problem specially the role of the youth. They took integrity pledge to eliminate corruption from the society. An Inter House Painting Competition on this very theme was held and the students of VII to X participated.

In Category-A of IX & X Classes First prize was bagged by Jasleen Khera  (X Keats) of Jyoti House, second prize was bagged by Jivanjot Kaur (X Keats) of Shakti House, and the third prize was won by Kriti (IX Keats) of Jyoti House and consolation prizes went to Ishita (IX Keats) of Shakti House. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that children of our country are moving abroad due to corruption. He urged that we have to provide corruption free nation to the intelligent youth of our country so that there is no brain drain. He also said that we need to awaken every citizen of the country against this deadly evil. Every citizen of the country is equally responsible to make India clean and free from corruption. He further advised the students to become responsible and loyal citizens before becoming IAS or IPS .

Addressing the audience, the Chief Guest Dr. Neeru Katyal Gupta (PCS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jagraon, said that instead of blaming the politicians and bureaucrats we need to do our duties sincerely and honestly. Youth can only build new India. She also said that the launch of e-governess is a good initiative which has brought transparency in the system which will help to eradicate this devil from the society. Sh. Rupinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Vigilance, Ludhiana had an interactive session with the students about their problems regarding corruption. He told the students if anyone asks for bribe, they may record and send it to their toll free number.

Welcoming and expressing gratitude to the Chief Guests and Guest of Honour , the Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that we see chaos in political, economic and social system of our country and the only two powerful forces who can uproot this corruption are parents & teachers.

The result of Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Group Dance Competition (Folk) scheduled for today at Green Land Sr.Sec.Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana was declared without any performance with the help of lottery system due to the Amritsar tragedy in which several innocent people lost their lives on Dussehra day.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Ludhiana, took a decision not to have the dance performance due to the tragedy that struck on the day when grand celebrations were going on throughout the country. He decided to have a lucky draw. He called one participant from each team and their teachers. Total 12 teams were present. The slips were numbered from 1 to 12 and folded in their presence. The participants picked up the chits and the results were declared accordingly. Dr. Rudhra told the participating schools that in the wake of sad atmosphere prevailing in the state due to the mowing down of several people by train, we cannot have dance or music in the Institution. He said that our heart goes out to the kin of the deceased. Everyone observed one minute silence to pray for the departed souls.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that the Chairman Sir’s decision was commendable as we could not have had celebrations in the wake of this tragedy.

VIJAYDASHMI CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC PUBLIC SCHOOL



The students of P.Nsy. to III of Green Land Sr. Sec Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, celebrated Dussehra with great fervor to mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil. The little ones dressed up in their best as Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman etc. depicted various scenes from the great Hindu epic, Ramayana.

The school Principal , Mrs. Baldeep Pandher blessed the students inspiring them to stand for righteousness even if they are alone. She further went on to say that goodness is always rewarded and evil leads to disaster.

 

WORLD FOOD DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL




World Food Day was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The students from IX to XI participated in Power Point Presentations. The students prepared PPT’s on ‘Food and Nutrition’, Problem of Food Shortage’, ‘Food and Agriculture’. The students also highlighted the need for nutritional food, proper exercise and correct posture required for proper growth and development. The students also raised slogans like “Jisne Khanne Ki Izzat Ki Hai, Bhagwan Ne Use He Khaane Se Navaza Hai!”.

The school Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, applauded the efforts of the students. She said that we should promise never to waste food and save food for those who go without food due to poverty.

 

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL



An International Day of the Girl Child was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The day was observed with the motive of creating awareness regarding the importance of nurturing girls. The students of class VI participated in Poster Making Activity. The students highlighted that more opportunities should be provided to girls and menace of female foeticide should be completely  eradicated from our society.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the endeavours of the students and said that there should be no gender inequality. She stressed that girls should have access to education, appropriate nutrition, legal rights, medical care and protection from discrimination.

These trials were conducted by LDCA at GRD Academy, Hambra Road, Ludhiana to select Ludhiana District U-14 (Boys) Cricket Team in which near about 250 students participated.

ONE ACT PLAY ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL



A one Act Play was enacted by the students of class XI at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The play was ‘Mother’s Day’ by J.B. Priestley. It was a humorous play which portrayed the position of the mother in a family. The play dealt with the theme that a mother is milled in her never ending household work. They should never be neglected and taken for granted. The students made an earnest appeal for a better and humane treatment for all mothers.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the efforts of the students and said that mother’s play a pivotal role in family. She said that women who are treated like doormats should raise their voice and fight for their rights because getting exploited passively is as unjustified as exploiting some helpless person.

 

AARUSHI YADAV OF GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL WIN SILVER MEDAL IN CBSE NORTH ZONE-II RIFLE SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP


In the CBSE North Zone -II Rifle Shooting Championship which was held at S.S. International School, Karnal from 3rd Oct., 2018 to 08th Oct., 2018 , Aarushi Yadav of Green Land Sr. Sec Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ldh, bagged silver medal in U-17 (Girls) Air Pistol event by scoring 376/400 points. She qualified to represent Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School in CBSE Rifle Shooting Nationals which will be held at Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Sirhind Side Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, from 14th November, 2018 to 17th November, 2018.

Public School spikers, Karan, Pranav Arora, and Rohan Madaan and Gurman Singh representing PAU zone in U-19, & U-14 Category respectively bagged Gold.

In the Punjab School District Basketball Championship which was held at D.A.V. School, Pakhowal Road Ludhiana. Wherein teams from various zones of  Ludhiana participated. Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School Cagers Paras, Tanbir. K. Gandhi, Hemant Sehdev  representing PAU zone in  U-19 Category bagged Gold. The girls representing PAU zone in U-19 Category Sukhdeep Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur and Tanshika Bhatia bagged bronze in the same competition.

EIGHTH GANESH MAHOTSAVA IN LORD GANESHA’S TEMPLE AT G.T. ROAD, NEAR GREEN LAND SCHOOL MANAGED BY SIDH DATA SEWA SOCIETY ( Regd.)



Eighth Ganesh Mahotsava was organised in Lord Ganesha’s Temple by Sidh Data Sewa Society ( Regd.)at G.T. Road, near Green Land School . Devotees in large number thronged to pay obeisance to the temple near 126 ft. high colossal Idol of Lord Ganesha. The marquees were adorned with flowers and streamers which gave a solemn manifestation. Lord Ganesha’s Idol was installed in the marquees with a complete propriety of conduct. The Poojan was supervised by Pt. Ajay Vashist. Today’s veneration was conducted with great devotion by Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, Smt. Usha Rudhra, Sh. Shabda Rudhra, Mrs. Vijayata Rudhra .

Among others members of the society, General Secretary, Sh. Anil Nayyar, Vice President Mr. Ravi Kalra, Cashier Sh. Deputy Kapoor, Press Secretary, Sh. Prem Kishan Bassi , stage secretary , Sh. PANDAL OF SIDH DATA SEWA SOCIETY ( REGD.) ECHOES WITH DEVOTIONAL CHANTINGS OF LORD GANESHA





On the Eighth Ganesh Mahotsava organised at Lord Ganesha’s Temple  apexes the majestic Idol of Lord Ganesha near Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, today’s reverence was codified with full propriety of conduct under the supervision of the veteran priest Pt. Somnat Vashist by Pandit Ajay Vashist , Pandit Vinod Shastri, Pandit Prahlad Sharma and Pandit Dharampal Sharma. The Navgrah Pujan was conducted by Chairman Sidh Data Sewa Society ( Regd.) Dr. Rajesh Rudhra Ji , Smt. Usha Rudhra, Smt. Rashmi Kalra and Sh. Ravi Kalra, Smt. Alka Mittal and Dr. Anil Mittal , Smt. Angoori Devi, Smt. Usha Rani , Smt. Kusum Khanna and Sh. Anil Khanna.

Pandit Ajay Vashist sermonised about the importance of worshiping Lord Ganesha . He said that Lord Ganesha bestows fame and opulence on his devotees. He asked the devotees to chant the mahamantara of OM which awakens the soul and heals the mind and body. After the holy preachings by Pt. Ajay Vashist, the renowned singer, Pawan Bobby and his group marked the occasion with their melodious singing of hymns “Ganpati Ji Ki Aarti Karey”. Gauri Ke Lal Ko Aaj Manayien”, “Tera Shukria Hai Data” etc. The devotees got enthralled with the spiritual fervour .

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that fortunate are those who discharge their social and religious duties so well each year during the Ganpati Mahotsav. Thereupon, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and other members of the society honoured all the dignitaries with the relics of Lord Ganesha . He said that every year, the society cherishes the privilege of organising this festival. This year also the tradition is followed with a complete propriety of conduct. This festival will proceed to its end on 23rd September with the Visarjan of the idol of Lord Ganesha in the Sutluj Dareya . He said that the devotees who come to pay obeisance are truly blessed and fortunate. Kirtan and Satsang has its own significance through which we come closer to our Lord. Sanatam Dharam and Hindu sanskriti has proved its significance since ages. Even Guru Nanak Dev Ji has promoted the importance of Kirtan and Satsang . During addressing the devotees, Dr. Rudhra announced that soon the idols of Shri Ram and Shri Radhey Krishna will be installed in the premises of the temple and the idol of Lord Ganesha will be adorned more beautifully. From now there shall be the celebrations of all the festivals like – Janmashtami, Ram Navami, Shivratri, Mata Ki Chowki and Chowki of Bala Ji. He said, whenever we are struck in the vicious circle of difficulties, we should look upto our creator and pray sincerely. God always answers the prayers of a true devout.

Pandit Ajay Vashishth told that today is the Jayanti of Rishi Vaaman, incarnation of Lord Vishnu that has added the auspiciousness. He said that the World cannot function without the virtue of religion. He sermonised that we should keep our necessities limited as there is a great difference in need and luxury. A man surrounded by luxuries often gets corrupt and is lured away from his virtues. The devotees felt exalted in the spiritual fervour with the recitation of mantras.

Dr. Rudhra said that if the body survives on food the soul feeds on Bhajan, Kirtan and Satsang. He prays that all should be blessed with this food of spirituality. Today, India is devoted to Lord Ganpati to felicitate the birth of Lord Ganesha and to seek blessings. After the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi , Sraadh are going to commence so that our ancestors should also bless us. He impressed upon guarding Hindu Sanskriti and to take pride in our pious values.

Dr. Rudhra announced that tomorrow Ganpati Visarjan will be set on journey at 11:00 a.m. after Hawan Poojan from the marquees of Lord Ganesha to the Sutlej Darya. He invited all to participate in the solemn occasion. Buses will be arranged for the devotees to escort the holy Visarjan of Lord Ganesha. Lungar will also be distributed after the Visarjan.

SIDH DATA SEWA SOCIETY (REGD.) ESCORTS THE PROCESSION FOR GANPATI VISARJAN FROM GANESHA TEMPLE NEAR LORD GANESHA’S 126 FT. HIGH IDOL






Sidh Data Sewa Society (Regd.) led a procession for Ganpati Visarjan today with a great pomp and show from the Lord Ganesha’s Temple along the 126 ft. high colossal Idol of Lord Ganesha at G.T. Road, near Green Land School. The Visarjan ceremony was performed after accomplishing the Poojan and Hawan. The procession proceeded among the showers of flowers and bellows of trumpets and beguiles. Taking halts at several places on the way to Sutlej Darya, prasad of laddoos was offered to the beloved Lord and distributed among the devotees. Thousands of devotees raised the shibboleth of ‘Ganpati Bappa Moreya Aglay Baras Tu Jaldi Aa’, while accompanying the procession. The Ganpati Idol was immersed in the holy waters of Sutlej Darya by all the members of the committee.

The prayer was codified with complete propriety of conduct among the chanting of mantras under the supervision of Pandit Somnath Vashishth by Pandit Ajay Vashishth , Pandit Vinod Shastri, Pandit Prahlad Sharma and Pandit Dharampal Sharma. Vipin Vinayak, Councillor, District Vice president of Congress and Sh. Sandeep Kakkar from Karnal and Rahul Bir from Amritsar were honoured by the chairman Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and other members of the Sidh Data Sewa Socit. by giving the replicas of lord Ganesha. The Chairman of Sidh Data Sewa Society (Regd.), Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that human body has five sense organs which are the windows to enter our soul. He said that we should receive pious and religious values through bhajan kirtan and satsang. Fortunate are those who are religious by their conduct. Our culture and heritage is quite ancient .Our Vedas and Holy books preach us to live  auspicious life of sublimity and spirituality. He further added that he is a proud Indian who is born on the land of holy saints like Tulsidas, Surdas and Ravidas. Commending the role of mothers and teachers in tailoring the character of children , he said that only mothers and teachers can instill values like honesty and truthfulness in a child’s behavior. Teaching these values are necessary to eradicate corruption from the society. He said that we should all keep connected to Lord Almighty. We should pray to remain hale and hearty. God always answers the prayers of a true hearts. Taking reference from the lives of saints like Kabir and Naamdev, he said that they took refuge in the name of almighty and God always protected them from difficulties.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES JANAM ASHTHMI

Janamashtami was celebrated with religious fervour at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The School campus looked beautiful with young toddlers dressed up as Radha, Krishna, Mirabai, Vasudeva, Yashodha etc. There was an aura of divinity all around with bhajans of Radha – Krishna resounding everywhere. Mesmerising dances depicting the life of Lord Krishna were performed. A wonderful show depicting the various stages of Lord Krishna’s life was put up by the students. A jhoola decked up with flowers with Bal Gopal inside was the centre of attraction.

The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Mrs. Vijeyata Rudhra and Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher performed the Puja ceremony. The staff and students sang ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ in unison. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that in the history of Indian culture, we will always remember two names i.e. Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. All the great saints have worshipped them. We should not commit sins in our life to meet one peaceful end. He also said that one of the motives of the school is to bind students with God. God is Omnipresent and he is supervising us every time. Whatever we do-right/wrong, it will be written in the book of God. Awards or punishments will be on the basis of our deeds. The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher highlighted Lord Krishna’s Theory of Karma. She also said that one should always indulge in good deeds as one has to bear the outcome of his/her actions.

 

TEACHERS OF CHAIN OF GREEN LAND SCHOOLS CELEBRATE TEACHERS’ DAY WITH ZEAL

The teachers of Green Land Schools rejoiced a day by feasting and merry making in the Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School Jallandhar Bye Pass Ludhiana. A short cultural programme was organized in honour of teachers in which teachers performed on various dance numbers. The Chief Guest Sh. Binay Kumar Jha, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana was accorded a warm welcome by the Chairman of the school Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Mrs. Usha Rudhra, President, Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Mrs. Vijayata Rudhra, Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara and other members of the Managing Committee. All the dignitaries were given a guard of honour by the NCC cadets. The programme was started with the bhajan – Jagoo Mohan Pyare. Thereupon, a Qwali ‘Alla Hoo’ was performed beautifully by the school teachers. The choreography ‘Shikshak Ek Shilpkaar’ was an outstanding presentation which depicted the role of a Guru or teacher in a student’s life. The teachers seemed to be savouring the gala time. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Binay Kumar Jha praised the dedication and devotion of Mr. Rajesh Rudhra as an educationist. He said that it is his ISHQ for education that we see the idols of Lord Ganesh and Maa Saraswati at the entrance. He also praised the secular vision of the administrators as we also hear the Sufi Kalaam of Bulle Shah on stage. Remembering his mother, he said that his mother was a very strict teacher who taught him the values like respect of mankind and honest service.

Addressing the teachers ,the Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land schools, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra paid his obeisance to his first Guru, his father, who was an epitome of honesty, dedication, truthfulness and righteousness. He also paid regards to Dr. Radha Krishnan Saravepalli and said that a teacher must be honestly dedicated towards his duty to educate the children. Comparing the Chief Guest Mr. Binay Kumar Jha with Abu Bin Adam, he said that Mr. Jha is such an angel who loves human beings and the nature equally. He is a true saviour of mankind who has dedicated himself for the cause of educating the poor and the desolate. He is a great teacher and a great leader who leads the team of honest and devoted Income Tax Officers. Giving the message from the quote of Swami Vivekanand, he extended the message of ‘being a great teacher’ and to inspire the students with the qualities of great learning, selfless service, dedication and hardwork. President, Mr. Shabad Rudhra, also extended his wishes to all the teachers and praised his father and mother for being his first Gurus who taught him the values and ways of life. The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher congratulated the staff members, thanked them for their meritorious services and inspired them to work with integrity and credibility which is very vital for their profession. She gave the message to “Be an ardent learner and be your own teacher by introspecting yourselves”. RADIO SHOW ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC.PUBLIC SCHOOL

An inter section radio show was organised for the students of class IX at Green Land Sr.Sec.Public School. The theme for the show was ‘Patriotism’. The students participated in the show with great zeal and enthusiasm. They highlighted the sacrifices of great martyrs and paid a glowing tribute to the soldiers who guard us at the borders. The students also tried to spread awareness regarding social problems which are a threat to the National Integration. The audience was mesmerized by the patriotic songs sung during the show. The students of class IX Milton & IX Chaucer were adjudged as the best performing team.

Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, the principal of the school applauded the efforts of the students. She highlighted the point that in order to safeguard National Integration it is essential to attain internal freedom first which means all citizens should have a selfless less mind free of ego. She further added that they should be aware of basic values and humanity in general.

The Annual Prize Distribution Function of Primary Section was organized, today by Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana to celebrate the spirit of nationalism and futuristic vision of modern India. The Chief Guest, Sh. Pradeep Kumar Aggarwal (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana was accorded a warm welcome by the Chairman of the school Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Mrs. Usha Rudhra, President, Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Mrs. Vijayata Rudhra, Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher and other members of the Managing Committee. The function ‘India of My Dreams’ began by invoking the blessings of ‘Saraswati Vandana’ to seek blessings of the Goddess of Light and Wisdom. It was followed by the cultural presentation of dances, choreographies and a play. The whole programme was an ardent effort to instill the values like patriotism , responsibility , respect, honesty, courage and compassion among students. Thereupon, the academic achievers were awarded the awards for their excellent performance in the academic session.

The students looked exuberant and elated in the colourful costumes. Most of the items were entwined around the theme of ‘India of My Dreams’ and Unity in Diversity. The play ‘Red Hiding Hood’ was a beautiful presentation of bravery in child’s innocence. The items – ‘Little Indian Boys’, ‘Old Macdonald’ has a farm, ‘shake it up’, ‘Khoob Lari Mardani’ were beautifully Choreographed. Bhangra Boys stole the show with their captivating performance.

The Chief Guest approved the efforts made by the school to imbibe moral values through today’s programme. He praised that the school actually has progressed a lot in last 8 years since his first visit to the school. It is the hardwork of Dr. Rajesh Rudhra and his team which has born the fruit in time . ‘No homework for primary students’ is a great relief for not only the students but also for their mothers. Mr.Aggarwal realised that the students of this school truly acknowledge their moral values, ethos and responsibilities which is a great promise to the bright future of our country.

To honour the 25th Anniversary of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Dr. Rudhra declared that fee of the students of P.Nsy to I will be reduced in the coming session and there will also not be any hike in the fee upto V std.

Mono Acting Competition Organized at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School



An Inter Section Mono Acting Competition was organized for the students of class VII at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. Around 30 students showcased their talent. The theme of the competition was ‘Patriotism’. The students through their mono acting highlighted the various problems of our county. The judgement was  done on the basis of student’s confidence, subject matter, voice modulation and presentation.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the students and their performance. She motivated the students to participate in such activities as it add fun to the learning process and enhance artistic skills in them. She also said that such activities help students to get rid of stage fright and make them more confident.

GREEN LAND SCHOOLS TO HOIST TRI COLOUR THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY AT WAGAH BORDER WITH SECURITY FORCES



The Chain of Green Land Schools will hoist Tricolour this Independence Day with Security Forces at Wagah Border. About 1000 students along with Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra , President, Mr. Shabad Rudhra and fifty staff members will leave for Amritsar on 14th August, 2018 in the afternoon. In the evening, the students will first visit Jallianwala Bagh and later, pay obeisance at Golden Temple. On 15th August, 2018 a visit to War Museum and Ram Tirath Mandir has also been scheduled.

On the eve of Independence Day, the students will join the gala celebrations at Wagah Border. The students will present cultural programme and intone patriotic songs. Later, they will take an oath to safeguard their motherland throughout their lives.

The Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, congratulated all and sundry on the auspicious occasion of 72nd Independence Day and implored the educational institutes to imbibe the spirit of patriotism amongst the students. The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana in continuation with the Pre-Independence Day celebrations organised Poster Making Contest. Greeting cards were made for our Armed Forces Jawans guarding our border in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. The students from IX to XII wrote letters to Jawans serving the nation. The students made placards depicting their love for country, tricolour and soldiers.

TEEJ CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL, LUDHIANA



Teej was celebrated with a great festive fervour by the senior girls of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The girls looked charmingly beautiful while flaunting traditional Punjabi outfits, colourful phulkaries, parandis, Patiala shahis and juttis along with traditional Punjabi ornaments. They performed Giddha, staged Tarinjhans and danced to the tunes of popular folk songs with great gusto. They also relished Kheer Puras and other traditional Punjabi cuisines.

PUNJABI DECLAMATION ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL, LUDHIANA


Pre-Independence Day Celebrations started at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana with Inter Section Punjabi Declamation Contest. It was organised for the students of class VI. Around 30 students participated in the contest. Various topics for the contest were “Desh Bhagati – Asli Bhagati’, ‘Ki Aasi Sachmuch Azad Haan?’, ‘Mere Supneyan da Bharat’ etc. The students spoke on various topics with great zeal & enthusiasm. They put forth the idea that vices of our country can be removed only when we love our country. They said lack of Patriotism leads to many social problems.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the efforts of the students. She said that patriotism is imbibed when the children are small so it is a moral duty of schools, teachers and parents to teach children the value of patriotism in the early age of their life.

The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana participated in Robotfest 2018 organised at Delhi Public School, Ludhiana. A Team of three students i.e. Nilesh from class VIII, Ved Bhatia from VII and Gurpreet Singh from Class VI participated in the two day fest. Day 1 of the Robofest was dedicated to introduce the basic concepts of Robotics and give the students a chance to construct robots while Day 2 was for the teams to solve the challenge set forth in the competition in which students of Green Land School emerged out as winners.

STUDENTS OF GREEN LAND PAY HOMAGE TO SHAHEED UDHAM SINGH

Remembering the sacrifices of a great National hero Shaheed Udham Singh, the students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana paid their respect to the great martyr of the nation by offering petals. The students were told about the ardent love that Udham Singh carried in his heart for his country and countrymen. He saw the massacre of Jallianwala Bagh at a very young age and took a pledge to avenge the bloodshed. He sacrificed his life for the country.

Observing the martyrdom of Shaheed Udham Singh, the Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that the sacrifice and life story of all the martyrs give inspiration to the youth of all times. She told the students that they should draw inspiration from such National heroes and never hesitate to stand by their Nation whenever or whatever the need be.

 

GURU PURNIMA CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL

The students and staff of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, celebrated the pious festival of Guru Purnima with great reverence and devotion . The students paid obeisance to Sant Kirpal Singh Jee Maharaj. Speech on the topic importance of Guru in one’s life was delivered by the students during the assembly.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told the students to follow the teachings of great Gurus to find wisdom, knowledge and peace. She also advised the students to respect ones parents and teachers who always wish good for the children.

 

Students At Green Land Pay Homage to Kargil Martyrs

The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana paid homage to the martyrs of Kargil. An Intersection Poetry Recitation Competition was organised for the students of VIII and IX. The students lit candles and pledged that they would never hesitate to sacrifice their lives whenever there would be a call from Nation. Remembering the sacrifices of brave soldiers and armed forces protecting the country at the border, filled the students with patriotic feelings.

The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told the students that they should never forget the sacrifice of the martyrs as any nation that forgets its martyrs never flourishes . She also told that our martyrs are real heroes and we should make them our ideals.

Celebrating 158th Anniversary of the Income Tax Department, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana organised Painting Competition on the topic ‘Mera Desh’ and ‘Swacch Bharat, Samriddha Bharat’ for the students of VIII & IX. The students made beautiful posters highlighting the need to clean India.

Green Land Sr Sec Public School, today, celebrated victory in Ludhiana Open District Tournament of shooting that held at Narangwal Shooting range, organised by District Rifle Association. Aarushi Yadav of class VIII won 2 golds (in U- 14 and U-17 category) shooting tournament with 10 mts Air pistol, whereas Yarin of class VIII bagged 2 silvers in (U- 14 and U- 17 category ) with 10mts Air pistol.

SAVE WATER CAMPAIGN AT GREEN LAND

The students at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana , endeavoured to spread water saving awareness amongst the students and Public. Power Point Presentations were prepared by the students depicting shortage of water, depletion of underground water, polluted water unfit for drinking, do’s and don’ts for saving water. The students also highlighted the problem of polluted rivers specially ‘Ganga River’. Through a video complete report on ‘Clean Ganga Campaign’ was shown to the students from VIII to XI. Various practical tips on saving water for future generation were put forth during the campaign. 

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told the students that Life is possible on only one planet i.e. Earth and this is only due to water. It is our moral duty to use water judiciously.

 

VAN MAHOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS BY PRE. PRIMARY SECTION AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC.PUBLIC SCHOOL

A short speech activity along with a rally on ‘Save Environment Save Earth’ was organised at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The students of classes P.Nsy, Nursery and K.G. made everyone aware of how & why the environment should be saved with their short speeches. The activity was later followed by a rally by the participants holding placards saying “Save Trees Save Earth”, “Give a Hoot for the Root” and many more. The confidence and enthusiasm was highly appreciated by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher. POEM RECITATION COMPETITION AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Poems are an integral part of growing process. They make life colourful & vibrant. Keeping this in mind a poem recitation competition was organized for the students of grade I to III. The cheerful students displayed their learning talent by reciting various poems on Save Environment . Their confidence and expression was commendable. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm of the students. She added that it is the responsibility of each student to grow trees that play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance. The students were given tips on how to save the environment and protect their surroundings. Poems recited by Hankraj, Aradhya Sood, Harudhay, Yuvika , Gurkirat of grade I, Deepanjali, Manya , Jhanvi of grade II and Prachi, Aarush, Gursohin, Arshia & Pir Jaza of grade III were adjudged the best.

 

WORLD POPULATION DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC.PUBLIC SCHOOL

The students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana showed their concern for the grim problem of population explosion, by observing World Population Day. The students were enlightened about various factors and effects of over population. Many suggestions were put forth to control over population during the school assembly.

Through an enactment on the stage the students highlighted the ill effects produced, which are the outcomes of over population.

The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra appreciated the students and said that the students at school and college level must be taught about such awful social issues. He also said that no developmental programme initiated by government can be successful unless there is control and check on over population.

 

PLANTATION DRIVE AND POSTER MAKING COMPETITION ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL ON ACCOUNT OF VAN MAHOTSAVA

Creating awareness among the students and observing Van Mahotsava as a part of academic co-curricular schedule, a Plantation Drive was organised with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students and 3 Punjab Battalion NCC Cadets of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Ludhiana. More than 80 saplings were planted near school and at Manj Phagowal.

An Inter House Poster Making Competition was also organised for the students of senior wing. The students through the medium ofposters, expressed the dire need to save earth by planting more and more trees. They also highlighted on the matters like Ozone Depletion, Global Warming, Conservation of Energy and its ways.

Jagriti House was adjudged as the winner of the competition and Jyoti House bagged the second position.

The Director of Green Land Convent School, Dugri, Ludhaina, Mrs. Vijayata Rudhra appreciated the efforts and zeal shown by the students to save their ailing planet. She impressed upon the need of conserving natural resources and planting trees.

 

“BEST OUT OF WASTE MATERIAL” DISPLAYED AT GREEN LAND

Promoting 3 R’s Reuse, Reduce and Recycle, the students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass ,Ludhiana made decorative show pieces out of waste materials which are usually thrown as junk.

Teaching importance of trees and protecting environment a class activity on the theme of ‘Van Mahotsava’ was conducted for the students of VI and VII. The students spoke on various topics like ‘Environmental Pollution’, ‘Tips of Saving Flora and Fauna’, ‘Need to Conserve Mother Earth’ etc.

The Vice Principal of the school, Mrs. Naresh Bala appreciated the efforts of the students. She told the students that small endeavours done at domestic level can help a lot in improving the deteriorating condition of Earth.

 

ENTHUSIASM GALORE- GREEN LAND RE-OPENS

Summer Holidays are over ! It’s back to school for kids of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The kids were excited to get back to school after summer vacation of more than a month. Broad smiles were observed on the faces of the students. “I have been waiting to get back to school and I’m happy to meet my friends” said a student of VI Chaucer. “Holidays are fun for a while but then I got bored” said another student of VII Chaucer.

An activity “Sharing Holidays Experience” was conducted for all the students wherein students expressed their experiences. They said that vacation relieves them from the pressure of exams, homework and daily lectures. Many spent vacation by playing & spending quality time with their relatives. Others enjoyed family trips to various parts of India and abroad. In K.G. wing the re-opening of school was celebrated in a homely and friendly atmosphere. Classrooms were decorated with colourful banners, ribbons & balloons as teachers welcomed the children.

The Vice Principal of the school, Mrs. Naresh Bala welcomed the students and teachers during the assembly. She was happy to see them and motivated them to Get-Set-Go with academic and co-curricular activities with zeal & enthusiasm.

 

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public school, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana organized the International Yoga Day on its premises to make the students aware about the age long practice of Yoga. All the students of senior wing performed various aasanas under the aegis of proficient mentors. Everybody was anxious to absorb the apt cognizance narrated and displayed by the yoga experts. An aura of spiritual meditation with pure vibration touched the mind and soul of all the pupils . It was an expression of meaningful existence in terms of how enthusiastic one can be to tackle the grim situation in one’s life. The traditional perception of yoga gurus reminded everyone about the secrets of fitness and long life of all the saints and seers . 

The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Mr. Rajesh Rudhra and the school Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, through their enlightening messages, appreciated the efforts of Human Resource Development and Ministry of AYUSH for observing the International Yoga Day and encouraged the students for regular yoga practice for stress- free life , strong immunity and harmony in the society to promote healthy living.

 

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

To spread awareness amongst the students ‘Save Earth Save Humanity’ campaign was organised. The students were told to conserve water, electricity and other non - renewable resources.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher impressed upon the need to shun plastic which is posing a great threat to human beings. She advocated the maxim ‘Each One Plant One’. The students were also told to keep the environment clean and be the change they want to see in others. The students of primary section flashed captions and also made projects highlighting the need for clean and green earth.

 

‘ANTI TOBACCO DAY’ OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana organized a Poster Making Competition on ‘ANTI TOBACCO DAY ’ to spread awareness about the baneful consequences of consuming tobacco. The students of class X participated with full zeal. All the participants expressed their ideas and thoughts by making appetible posters, slogans and charts. Children painted their faces to pour out their emotions. Funny cartoons and catchy slogans carrying heart touching messages urged everyone to ponder over the disastrous impacts of tobacco.

The school Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher advised the students to say ‘No’ if they are offered anything that contains tobacco as it is a form of poison which kills people slowly. She advocated for effective policies to reduce the tobacco consumption including the ending of illicit trade of tobacco products near by the educational institution as well as in the country.

CHAIN OF GREEN LAND SCHOOLS ORGANISES RUHANI SATSANG.

A Ruhani satsang of Sant Baba Harmesh Dass Ji was organised today, at Sh Ram Labhaya Rudhra auditorium of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School. The event was organised with the objective of igniting spirituality and religious piety among the devotees. The Chairman Cum Director of the school along with President Mr. Shabad Rudhra , members of the Managing Committee Mrs Usha Rudhra and the Principals of Chain of Green Land Schools, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs Gunpreet, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur welcomed Baba Harmesh Dass Ji and his team of satsangis. The staff members of the Chain Of Green Land Schools also paid their obeisance and participated enthusiastically to get spiritually enlightened. The event started with an Aarti that was followed by Shabad Kirtan and Gurbani recitations. All the devotees felt spellbound with recitations of the shabads- ‘Tu Mera Pita Tu Mera Mata’, ‘Ram Japo Ji Aise Aise’ and ‘Mittar Piyare Nu’.

The Principal,Mrs Jyoti Pujara spoke on the importance of Satsang. She said that we learn to worship God in the company of true devotees. Satsang redeems us spiritually and saves us from the sinful materialistic living. She impressed upon keeping the chamber of heart clean.

Speaking upon the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Rudhra said that fortunate are those who are regular to the Sastsang . He said that Baba Harmesh Dass ji is a pious soul and epitome of simplicity, who is the saviour of millions of parched souls . Mr. Rudhra impressed upon inculcating the teaching of ‘Karma and Dharma’ through our education. He said that we should be thankful to God that he has blessed us with a such noble profession of teaching. Dharma teaches us the path of righteousness and the value of true Karma. There is no bigger worship than being dutiful while observing our religion. He further said that Satsang is the food of soul which satisfies our spiritual needs. We should concentrate ourselves and be one with the shabad. Speaking about Baba Harmesh Das Ji ,  said that he descends from the lineage of Baba Ram Thaman Ji, who was the immediate cousin to Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Addressing the devotees and the members of the staff , Baba Harmesh Dass Ji said that without the blessings of Almighty, nobody can prosper or flourish in his life. Each breath should be paying obeisance to God , the Supreme saviour .He said that there is a great strength in the name of Ram. Even a rock can float through the ocean with the pious name of Almighty. He also said that unless we get rid of five vices- Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh, Ahankar, we cannot get close to the Almighty.

The programme ended with distribution of Langar and Parsad.

 

PRIYANKA NATIONAL CHESS PLAYER TOPS ARTS STREAM AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL WITH 96.4%

Humanities Toper, Priyanka who scored 96.4% is also a national level chess player with a FIDE rating 1261 . She has represented the school in various district, state and national level tournaments. Last year she had won bronze medal in individual category at CBSE Chess Nationals which was held at Ranchi, Jharkhand.

 

KIDS FASHION SHOW HELD AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

It is said that all kids need a little love and support to cherish every moment in life. Keeping this in view a ‘Fashion Show’ was held at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, for the students of I to V. As many as 100 students participated in the show. The kids set the ramp on fire walking confidently showcasing colourful apparels high on style and comfort.

The blooming buds were looking very stylish and cute in their special attires. The event was held to give kids an opportunity to have fun after their exams. The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the effort put in by the students.

ANTI TERRORISM DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

National Anti Terrorism Day was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana,. On the occasion the students were made aware about the importance of the day. The students were told about the danger of terrorism and violence and its effect on the people, society and country as a whole. RED DAY CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL, JALANDHAR BYE PASS, LUDHIANA

Learning colours is an important part of every child’s early education. It helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words. With this objective Red Day was celebrated at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, for the tiny tots of Nsy. Wing. The tiny tots were attractively dressed in different shades of red. The classes were beautifully decorated with red ribbons and balloons. The children enjoyed the day by doing fun activities related to their colour. They did colouring sheets, thumb printing and enjoyed rooh-afza party. The purpose behind the celebration was to familiarize the children with red colour and encourage them to eat seasonal fruits such as apples and strawberries which are a good source of nutrition.

 The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the effort put in by the teachers to make the students recognize colours in a joyful way.

GREEN LAND SENIOR SECONDARY PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVED NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY

National Technology Day was observed with enthusiasm at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School to commemorate technological breakthrough and advancement . An Inter House Paper Reading Contest was held wherein the students of XI & XII highlighted the importance of this day. The Students presented their views on various topics such as nanotechnology, biogenetics, flight to Mars, technical advancement in agriculture and industries. The Students declaimed on the point that scientific temperament is a must among the citizens of India. The vision to become a Super Power and developed Nation is possible only when we promote Science and Technology. Through the contest students expressed gratitude to all Indian Scientists, Nuclear Engineers & Technologists who have been working so hard to make India stand up to the world. An Inter House Poster Making Competition was also held. The students of XI Non .Medical , Science & XII Non. Medical & Science participated in it. Beautiful posters depicting technology and advancement were made by the students.

Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that the development in Science and Technology has made India receive global acknowledgement. A TALENT HUNT SHOW ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

A Talent Hunt Show was organised at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana for the students of XI and XII. The students participated in the event with great enthusiasm. A preliminary round was conducted and out of that best 35 students performed on the stage. The students showcased their talent by singing songs, dancing and by performing mono acting. Some students showed their oratory skills by delivering speeches. The students were dressed smartly according to their event. They were adjudged on the basis of their presentation and confidence.

Applauding the efforts of the students the Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told the students that they must polish their talents and do regular practice besides focussing on studies. She also said that it is the responsibility of the schools and teachers to inculcate aptitude, interest and help children to find out their innate talents.

 

MOTHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Mothers’ Day was celebrated at Green Land Sr. Sec Public School today to celebrate motherhood and the contribution of mothers in bringing up the children. The students expressed their love and affection for their mothers through various stage performances and activities like Greeting Card Making, Songs ,Poem Recitation and speeches.

The students made beautiful cards as a token of their love for their mothers which was appreciated by one and all. They sang beautiful songs and poems dedicated to their mothers. Children thanked their mothers for always being there for them and for all the sacrifices they make for their betterment. A group song competition was also organized in the school auditorium for the students of class IX, which was greatly enjoyed by the students.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the performance of children and conveyed to the students that they should shower their love and respect on their mothers as she is definitely the truest friend and best guide any child can have. Teaching the lesson of respect, Mrs. Pandher said that nobody can take mother’s place. She said that Parents and teachers are the living Gods on the earth, so both should be respected equally. Their blessings can do wonders in a child’s life.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL HOLDS THE SELECTION OF NCC CADETS FOR THE NEW SESSION

The selection of students for the registration as NCC cadets for the session 2018-19 was conducted today at Green Land Sr.Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. Under the supervision of Lt. Colonel Harmanjot Singh, 3rd Punjab Battalion NCC, selection of Junior Division was done. Highlighting the importance of NCC, Mr. Singh also told about the objectives & mission of NCC. He told the importance of being a part of NCC. He advised them to imbibe the values of discipline and harmony. The enrolment of the students was done by Subedar Jaswinder Singh and A.N.O. Kulwinder Singh on the basis of physical fitness and oral viva of the students. Around 30 students were selected for Junior Division 2018-19.

Lemond, Director Oxford Community School, Michigan, USA and Ms. Chunchun Tang, Director International Programmers, Oxford Community School who were welcomed by the President of the Chain of Green Land Schools , Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Dr. Vijayata Rudhra, Director,  Mrs. Baldeep Pandher Principal Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. and Ms. Vinita Sanan, Director Green Land Convent Schools.

Ms. Tang and Ms. Lemond first started their session in Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. They then went to the other branches i.e. Green Land Convent Schools- Chandigarh Road, New Subhash Nagar, Dugri and Civil City respectively.

They made the students aware about the Oxford High School and different Universities of USA where students can pursue their higher studies. They informed about various programmes and courses for the students in the field Science, Commerce, Humanities and Performing Arts. The students also got to know about the scholarship schemes. They raised many questions and found answers for their queries. The children were also shown PPT’s on the same to have a better understanding. Through the power point presentations they also shared the experiences of Indian students who are already enrolled with them.

 The resource persons announced that they have chosen Chain of Green Land Schools as sister concern and will be giving higher rating when the students of Green Land apply for Oxford School Programme. They also assured of helping students for getting admission in renowned Universities of USA after they qualify the diploma at Oxford School.

Speaking on the occasion the Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher congratulated the students for tie up of Green Land Schools with Oxford School, Michigan, USA. She appreciated the resource persons for imparting their valuable information to the students.

 

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL CONFERRED WITH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD-2018

An International School Award -2018 was conferred on Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana in a function held in New Delhi on 21st April, 2018. The award was handed over to Mr. Shabad Rudhra and Dr. Vijayata Rudhra , President and Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools by the CEO of Qualifications of Assessments , International, U.K. The award was given for the quality education and proficiency levels of the students of the school in all the four key English Language Skills – Listening , Reading , Writing & Speaking .

QAI Offers Global English Testing Services for English Language skills. The team of QAI mapped students of Green Land with International standards in English language and evaluated them to be at par with the Global Standards. The Chairman of the school, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra , congratulated the Principals of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur, the teachers and the students. He exhorted the members of the staff and the students to maintain the proficiency level of English language as per the International levels for the benefit of the students in terms of higher education in India and abroad.

 

FRESHERS’ PARTY AT GREEN LAND

A Freshers’ Party for the classes Pre Nursery to V marked the beginning of the new session of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. It was a delight to watch tiny tots in bright and colourful dresses. The children walked the ramp with confidence and style. Harshit Nanda and Bhavseerat Kaur from Nursery, were declared Mr. and Ms. Fresher.

 The zeal and enthusiasm of the students was commendable. They danced on the popular numbers as well as enjoyed games with their teachers. Kids also had a gala time on the swings. The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher and Headmistress Ms. Ruby Sharma welcomed the students and wished them good luck .

 

GRADUATION CEREMONY OF KINDERGARTEN HELD AT GREEN LAND

The Graduation Ceremony of K.G. section was held in the school Auditorium (Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium) at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Rajesh Rudhra , Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools was accorded a floral welcome by the Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher along with Vice Principal Mrs. Naresh and Headmistress Ms. Ruby Sharma. On this occasion Principals of other branches Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur were also present.

The little graduates were looking impressive in their gowns and caps as they bade their sweet good byes to their pre-primary teachers who helped them get through their years of informal learning. The function commenced with a ‘Welcome Song’ followed by wonderful dance performances which was applauded by one and all. K.G. children shared their joyous experience of the past three years.

The students were awarded degrees by the Chairman Cum Director of the school, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra along with Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher and Headmistress, Mrs. Ruby Sharma . The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Sh. Rajesh Rudhra conveyed his heartfelt felicitations to the students and the parents. Speaking on the occasion he said that whatever the parents want their children to be, there is only one way and that is by supporting the school and the teachers. Without the support of the parents, the teachers at school can never achieve the goals they set for their children. He also said that we should be inspired by the life of great people and inculcate moral values among our children.

Furthermore, he appreciated the whole Management and teachers who are effortlessly working for the upliftment of the students. Today, Green Land is a proud possessor of well equipped and maintained sports stadium in 7 acres. Play station based on latest technology is being introduced in the school premises. Focus on English lab and IT is being eternally paid; which highly influences the general knowledge of a child.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher congratulated the parents and students of kindergarten. She appreciated the effort put in by the staff and students for their hard work and dedication towards making the event a memorable one.

 

LABOUR DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND

Labour Day was observed enthusiastically by the students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ldh. A wonderful ‘Fancy Dress’ show was put up by the students of P.Nsy. to K.G. wherein they came dressed up as different helpers. The main motive was to make them realize that no work should be deemed as high or low and due respect should be given to every profession. The kids dressed up as vegetable sellers, painters , maids , drivers, gardeners, attendants, cobblers etc thanked God for providing helpers who help us in our day to day life.

An Intersection Poetry Recitation Competition was also organised for the students of VII and VIII. The students highlighted on the menace of child labour. They also recited poems on the importance of dignity of labour. The topics of poetry were- Bal Majdoori Ek Appraadh, Khushboo Rachte Hath, Puran Rozgaar Majdoor ka Adikaar and so on.

The Principal of the school , Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the efforts put in by the staff and students. The students were exhorted to believe in the dignity of labour .It was stressed upon that no great achievement is possible without persistent work. The confidence of the students with which they put forth the significance of each and every profession was worth appreciation.

The result of Poetry Recitation Competition is as follows:-
The first prize was bagged by Ved Bhatia of VII Keats & Suhana of VIII Keats. Armaan from VII Bacon & Mehak from VIII Pope got the second position. Third prize was won by Taranpreet of VII Keats , Kawalnain of VII Milton and Manya of VIII Milton. Consolation prizes were given to Purnima of VII Bacon, Divyanshi of VIII Pope and Peer Jazib of VIII Chaucer.

STORY DRAMATIZATION COMPETITION AT GREEN LAND

To enhance the confidence and speaking skills of the students, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, organized an English ‘Story Dramatization Competition’ for the students of kindergarten. Many students from the various sections of K.G. participated in the competition. The students dramatized the moral based stories such as The Red Riding Hood, The Shepherd Boy and The Wolf, The Capseller and The Monkeys etc. Tiny tots were looking very cute in their costumes while enacting various characters of the stories. They also used a variety of props to make their stories interesting and expressive. Aradhya Sood of K.G. Dove and Pranav of K.G. Kiwi stole the show with their acting and dialogues. Enthusiasm and passion of the students was also witnessed by the headmistress, teachers and judges.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher appreciated the efforts made by the teachers and students.

 

BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATED AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL

The Students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, welcomed the Spring Season with great enthusiasm. Children of the K.G. wing looked stunning dressed up in yellow attire. The students worshipped Goddess Saraswati & Lord Brahma to whom the festival of spring is dedicated. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told about the significance of yellow colour on this day & dedication of this day to the Goddess of learning. She felicitated the students on the occasion. The staff and the students paid obeisance to Goddess Saraswati and chanted ‘Saraswati Mantra’. Junior students dressed up as flowers danced to the tunes of Basant songs and relished yellow dishes.

 

CHAIN OF GREEN LAND SCHOOLS CELEBRATES REPUBLIC DAY

Patriotic zeal and fervour marked the Republic Day celebrations by Chain of Green Land Schools, at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass Ludhiana. Today’s occasion was specifically graced by Padamshri Shri Vijay Chopra Ji, Chief Editor of Punjab Kesari Group, as Chief Guest. The celebrations began with the ceremonial Flag hoisting by Shri Vijay Chopra Ji, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra , the Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, General Secretary , Mrs. Usha Rudhra , Mr. Shabad Rudhra President , Dr. Vijayata Rudhra , Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Ms. Vinita Sanan and Ms. Jyoti Pujara. A guard of honour was accorded by N.C.C Cadets of Green Land School under 3 Punjab Battalion. The students of the school presented a cultural bonanza to keep the patriotic spirit alive. Patriotic songs and dances kindled the spirit of nationalism and patriotism. Thereupon, the academic and sports achievers were awarded prizes for their excellent performances. 26 students from each branch of Green Land were awarded special prizes by Padamshri Shri Vijay Chopra Ji and the Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra  for laudable behaviour, co-operative attitude and excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities. They were honoured with certificates and badges of ‘Best Student of the Year, 2016-17’. The students paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Nation . The students dressed up in hues of Tricolour spread about the message of peace and harmony which is the need of the hour.

The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land schools, Sh. Rajesh Rudhra ji welcomed the Chief Guest Padam Shri Vijay Chopra Ji . Speaking on the occasion he said that Late Smt. Swadesh Chopra w/o Padam Shri Vijay Chopra Ji laid the foundation stone of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana on 13th April, 1992. Her pious hands blessed the Institution in such way that it has branched into 11 Senior Secondary Schools. Giving his message to the students Sh. Rajesh Rudhra ji , said that we acquired our freedom after thousands of sacrifices over the period of many hundred years. Republic Day is a National festival which is celebrated unanimously by people of all religions. Giving Tricolor the regard of God, he said that we should be proud of singing our National Anthem ‘Jan Gan Mann’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. He congratulated the best students for achieving the awards for their behavior and participation in general. He said that it will be a motivation for others too. He said that achieving excellence is easy but to maintain it, is tough. He said that we should keep the bad behavior and habits at bay to become great citizens because only a great citizen can make a great nation. Giving moral message to the students he said that it depends on our determination to stay away from vices like bribery and drug abuse. A Country becomes great if the youth remains morally sound.

Padamshri Shri Vijay Chopra Ji also addressed the audience and praised the selfless service of Sh. Rudhra Ji in the field of education. He said that Mr. Rudhra is towards the unmatched efforts of ensuring best quality education to the students. It is a sublime task that is the foundation of making a nation great. He also gave the message of respecting the elders , speaking the truth and promoted the slogan of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Beti Basao’. 

 The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher implored the students to promote peace and brotherhood to make this country a paradise. The NCC students of the school were given momentos to appreciate their hard work they put throughout the session. The students took a pledge that they would always stand by their country during the times of need and create a beautiful India free from corruption, crime and social vices. The function concluded with the pledge “Aae Vatan , Aae Vatan , Hum Ko Teri Kasam …..”.

LOHRI CELEBRATIONS AMIDST MASTI & DHAMAAL AT GREEN LAND

Lohri was celebrated amidst tremendous joy, enthusiasm, fun and dhamaal at Green Land Sr.Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The young, jovial energetic toddlers dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire performed bhangra and gidda on the beats of dhol around the bonfire as it gave them an opportunity to break free from their busy schedule & share each others company. Offerings of chirwa, meva, til, gur, rewri, gachak etc. were made to Agni, the God of fire by one and all. Popular songs in praise of Dulha Bhatti were sung by students.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher joined the celebrations and exhorted students to thank God for a bountiful life on earth & at the same time keep alive the tradition and culture. The school campus was beautifully decorated with colourful kites. The Students relished groundnuts, puffed rice, rewris & other winter savories and had a gala time full of fun and merriment.

CHAIN OF GREEN LAND SCHOOLS CELEBRATES 73rd INDEPENDENCE DAY

Keeping the spirit of patriotism alive , the staff and students of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Ludhiana, celebrated 73rd Independence Day with full zeal and exuberance in Sh. Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium. The Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr.Rajesh Rudhra , Dr. Vijeyta Rudhra, alongwith Principals Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs. Ritu, Mrs. Aruna Kapila and other members of the Managing Committee hoisted the Tricolour. The students brought the stage alive with their passion and love for their motherland through patriotic songs and dances. The dance performance dedicated to our revered Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi invoked the spirit of the Nationalism among the audience. The students bowed in allegiance to the brave freedom fighter who laid their lives for the motherland. The students dressed up in hues of Tricolour spread about the message of peace and harmony which is the need of the hour. As customary, the staff and students collectively underwent an oath to safeguard their nation under all circumstances. The school resounded with the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’ Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman cum Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Sh Rajesh Rudhra congratulated every Indian on this glorious day of Independence. He said that this 73rd Independence Day is more splendid and magnificent than the day we acquired our real Independence, as our Crown Kashmir is free from the bond of Article 370. He also said that he is not a fan of any party or person. He is just a fan of a person who makes his country strong and takes it to the height of glories. He inspired the students to love their country and religion as they are the biggest strength of life. He also wished on the behalf of the students and staff that our Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi may live long.

TEEJ CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND SCHOOL

Teej was celebrated with a great festive fervour by the senior girls of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The girls looked charmingly beautiful while flaunting traditional Punjabi outfits, colourful phulkaries, parandis, Patiala shahis and juttis along with traditional Punjabi ornaments. They performed Giddha, staged Tarinjhans and danced to the tunes of popular folk songs with great gusto. They also relished Kheer Puras and other traditional Punjabi cuisines. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher extended warm wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Teej. She said that Teej is an occasion to celebrate our age old glorified heritage and culture.
