Greenland Senior Secondary Public School organized a dynamic activity focusing on electrical safety precautions for students of Class VI. The event aimed to educate students on the importance of electrical safety through engaging activities.

The students actively participated in creating banners and drawings illustrating essential electrical safety rules. Through artistic expression, students reinforced their understanding of safety precautions in an engaging and creative manner. The students were enlightened about the crucial do's and don'ts related to electrical safety, emphasizing the significance of caution and awareness when dealing with electricity.

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School observes Earth Day

To remind the students of their duties towards 'Mother Nature' and as a part of initiative "Planet vs. Plastics "Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School celebrated Earth Day .

A special assembly was organized for the students of class IX-XII where students took pledge to safe guard their mother earth. They were also emphasized the need for collective action to repair and heal the planet's ecosystems, combat climate change, and preserve biodiversity.

On this occasion, the students of Pre-Nursery to First brought bottle planters. Poetry recitation competition was organized for the students of I to V & grade VIII where students recited poems on various topics like Go green, Stop Pollution, Save the Rainforest, Celebrate Earth Day Every Day, Start Using Solar Energy etc. The students presented their oratory skills through their beautiful presentations.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that the motive behind observing Earth Day in school is to inculcate students with values of conservation, respecting nature, being mindful of disposing the waste, and encouraging them to reduce, reuse and recycle.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANIZES VALEDICTORY FOR XII BATCH 2023-24.

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School accorded a fond farewell to class XII of batch 2023-24, marking the end of their glorious sojourn. Class XI students organised a glistening farewell party for their seniors and made all efforts to make the last day of school very special and memorable for them, who would soon embark on a new path in their lives.

The event was graced by the President of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Shabad Rudhra along with Director Dr. Vijayeta Rudhra .

Celebrations of the day started with a mesmerizing soulful Bhajan 'Itni Shakti Hume Dena Data ' and song 'Kabhi Alvida na kehna 'by the budding super singers of XIl which was followed by warm words of welcome by Sanna Sharma of XI. Cultural bonanza presented by Class XI further energised the festive atmosphere.

The day was a jubilant fiesta where students and teachers looked back at the years of life, laughter and learning spent together. Students reminisced about their fun-filled days in school through PPT and expressed how difficult it was for them to go out of the portals of their alma- mater. They felicitated their teachers by presenting their speeches as a mark of their gratitude and respect.

The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher conveyed her best wishes to the outgoing Green Knights for their future ahead and encouraged them to do their alma-mater proud and blessed the batch with her words of wisdom. She ended her address with a message ‘Always be humble and kind to other and have gratitude for all their blessings.'

The Director,Dr.Vijayeta Rudhra in her address told the students that it is imperative for students to cultivate a positive social circle. The significance of genuine friendships cannot be overstated. Exercise caution to avoid succumbing to negative influences, steer clear of detrimental associations, and make thoughtful choices in selecting friends. Avoid involvement in substance abuse and uphold righteous values in life.

The President Dr. Shabad Rudhra in his address directed the students to act maturely and respect their parents and teachers as they are the only true friends of a child and never let them down in their life.He also told them to dedicate the next five years of their lives in achieving their goals, advising them to steer clear of distractions and negative influences, emphasizing the importance of focusing on their dreams and ideas while confronting challenges head-on. In the end, he wished the outgoing batch good luck for their board exams and their life ahead. He prayed that God may bless them with all that they want.

PM Modi's program 'Pariksha pe Charcha-2024' telecasted at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School.

The seventh edition of Prime Minister’s interaction programme with school students ‘Pariksha pe charcha 2022’was telecasted at Green Land Sr.. Sec. Public School. PM Modi enlightened students with his valuable tips to ensure that they take up the upcoming board and entrance exams in a relaxed manner.

The students of class Xll and X were privileged to have this live telecast on ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024’ in the school premises from 11.00 a.m. onwards. Around 350 students and staff members watched the live telecast .

The highlight of the celebration was a series of enlightening PowerPoint presentations that illuminated the importance of Republic Day. Students were engaged with visually appealing slides, shedding light on the historical significance, values, and achievements associated with this monumental day in the Indian calendar.

In addition to the informative presentations, the primary and middle wing students actively participated in various activities, including the creation of tri-colour cap making,patriotic cards,posters and paragraph writing. This hands-on approach allowed the students to express their thoughts and emotions about Republic Day, fostering a deeper connection to the nation's heritage.

In a bid to spread awareness about the importance of voting among the millennials, National Voter’s Day was celebrated at Green Land Sen. Sec. Public School. The students of grade IV and XII were taught how to fill form 6 issued by Election Commission of India ,for online voter registration for Indian citizens who have attained the age of 18 on the qualifying date (1st of January of the year of revision of electoral roll), at National Voters' Service Portal.The activity was done to teach the students about the procedure to cast the vote.

The Chairman, Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that voting is a significant root of India as future of the country lies in the leader that we choose. He also encouraged youth to cast their votes without fail to participate in the development of the country.

The students were arrayed in red and white and clicked images by performing art and craft activity of Christmas tree. The students also vocalised mellifluous carols and danced gloriously on the special occasion. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was evident on the faces of all children.

The vibrant spirit of cultural diversity took centre stage as Green Land Sr.Sec. Public School hosted its 32nd Annual Day Function and Cultural Odyssey themed "Fusion Fiesta" with unparalleled enthusiasm.

The students of grade Pre-nursery to XII presented a scintillating show. The afternoon was reserved for gala celebrations which was graced by Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examinations ,Dr. Shvetta Arora, Regional Officer ,CBSE, Chandigarh , S. Paramdeep Singh Khera, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation along with Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Smt. Adding a touch of humour to the evening, the Hindi comedy play "Rishton Ki Dukan" had the audience in splits, proving that laughter knows no boundaries. The inter-state dances brought a splash of diverse cultures, celebrating the rich tapestry of India's traditions. From the energetic beats of Bhangra to the graceful twirls of Gidda, the cultural exchange was a visual feast.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra in his inspiring speech said that students have brought laurels to the school both in academics as well as co-curricular activities bagging various trophies not only in district, state but also at National level. Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, Power lifter – Yuvraj Arora of XII Arts brought laurels to school by bagging silver medal in the Punjab Schools State Tournament which was organized under the aegis of Punjab Schools Education Department at Fatehgarh Sahib from 6th December to 8th December 2023 in U-19 Boys weight category of 120 kg with the total power lift of 370kg.

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana won Sahodaya School Complex U-14 Cricket Tournament 2023 organized at Lakewood Public School, Pakhowal Road Ludhiana .

The Final match was played between Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ldh and International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, Ludhiana. Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass Ludhiana, won the toss and elected to bat first and put a score of 86 runs in 10 overs with the loss of 02 wickets. In response International Public School, Sandhu Nagar managed to score 75 runs in allotted 10 overs with the loss of 03 wickets and loss the match by 12 runs.

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET BEGINS AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Annual Sports Meet 2023 kick started at Green Land Stadium, Manjh Phagowal, G.T. Road, Ludhiana. The most anticipated event of the year commenced with the school flag hoisting by the Principal of school, followed by the lighting of the torch and oath ceremony. The meet was declared open by the principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher which was followed by an impressive march past by the participants. The boys of Classes VI to XII showed their mettle in an array of events at Green Land Sports Stadium. Around 600 students participated on the first day of the two days long athletic meet.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that beyond the obvious health and activity benefits, sports can teach us much about life. It teaches us about teamwork and team spirit. It teaches us to work together to achieve a common goal. It’s also about trust and responsibility and about dealing with success and failures.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES ECO FRIENDLY DIWALI

The festival of lights came alive at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School when the whole school wore a festive look with diyas, rangoli, cards, candles, lanterns and art work from eco friendly goods. While celebrating Diwali in school, young Green knights, led the way in spreading the message of celebrating safe and pollution-free Eco-Friendly Diwali.

To enhance the creative skills among students Inter-House Competitions were organised where in students from VI to XII participated in Card Making, Diya Decoration, Festoon Making, Lantern Making and Rangoli Making.

On the occasion , a special assembly was organized where students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conqueres the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students about the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines of environment-friendly options for celebrating Diwali. Wonderful display of work of art by Jagriti, Jyoti, Kirti & Shakti House students showcased their joy and ecstasy for the festival.

Wishing the students happy and prosperous diwali, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra appreciated the concern shown by students towards the environment through their aesthetic creations. ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET -2023 CONCLUDED AT GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Green Land Sr.Sec.Public School, concluded its Annual Athletic Meet on 9th November 2023 in the sports complex of the school. Around 1,300 students participated in the event. The aim behind holding the event was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and fondness for sports in children. It was a day filled with fervour and exhilaration, amidst thrills and cheers.

Greenland Senior Secondary Public School celebrated its much-anticipated "Fun and Fiesta Carnival" for 2 days for junior and senior wing with an exhilarating display of talent, games, and entertainment.The event was a resounding success, bringing joy and smiles to the faces of young students.

The school campus was transformed into a vibrant carnival ground, adorned with colorful decorations, balloons, and cheerful banners. The Students and teachers eagerly participated in various activities and games throughout the day. From traditional games like ring game to creative art and craft stalls, the carnival offered a wide array of entertainment.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVED NATIONAL UNITY DAY

To foster a sense of togetherness, harmony, and unity among the students, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Ludhiana celebrated National Unity Day along with Vigilance Week.

The day began with a special assembly where students and teachers of IX-XII gathered in great enthusiasm. The assembly commenced with a melodious rendition of the national anthem, emphasizing the importance of national unity and pride. This was followed by a series of speeches delivered by students, who spoke eloquently on the significance of unity in a diverse society. They highlighted the need for tolerance, understanding, and respect for one another's differences. The assembly concluded with a group pledge, where all the students and teachers joined hands to promise to work together and promote unity within the school and the community.

An inter-class Declamation Contest was also organised for class XI where students presented speeches on the themes of unity, diversity, the strength of togetherness and anti corruption. GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANISES INNOVATIVE SOCIAL SCIENCE ACTIVITY, BRINGS THE SOLAR SYSTEM TO LIFE

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School organises Innovative Social Science Activity that brought the Solar System to life. Students of class VI engaged in a creative and educational social science activity left both participants and observers in awe. This unique event transformed the auditorium into a mini solar system as students assumed the roles of planets and the head of the solar system, showcasing their knowledge and passion for astronomy.

Each participant was assigned a planet's role, and they took on the task of embodying their celestial character. The young "planets" used props and engaging presentations to highlight the key features, characteristics, and interesting facts about their respective celestial bodies.

To make learning a joyous experience, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, organised three days Social Studies activity for students of classes VI-VIII. The enthusiasm, devotion, and passion with which the students engrossed themselves in the activities reflected that they are the true torchbearers to understand and realise that nothing is impossible to willing mind. On the occasion interclass declamation contest was organised for the students of class VII. The topics for the competition were- Equality in Democracy, Constitution, Judiciary, Importance of Independence Day, Republic Day, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Corruption, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Article 370, Role of Media, The Parliament of India. .The students exhibited their oratory skills through their speeches.

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School came alive with enthusiasm and entertainment as the students of class VIII & IX showcased their talent at the inter-section Radio Jockey Show . The event, provided an excellent platform for budding radio jockeys to exhibit their charisma and communication skills.

The students presented the show on themes school life, social vices, feminism has gone too far and social media . The student radio jockeys demonstrated their flair for hosting, and their passion for music, news, and entertainment which was evident throughout the event. The event featured a lineup of talented radio jockeys who presented their shows, each with a unique theme and style. From retro music to thought-provoking discussions, the diversity of content kept the audience engaged.

Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning. Being a diverse country, through such celebrations, students not only learn the significance behind the festival, but they also learn to embrace other traditions and culture.

Keeping up the tradition of celebrating festivals, Dussehra was celebrated by the students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School. Dussehra is the major Indian festival celebrated by the Hindus on the 10th day of Hindu calendar month of Ashwin. It also marks the end of Navratri festivities. Children came dressed up in ethnic clothes and made beautiful masks representing characters of Ramayana. Teachers also shared some valuable information about the festival, thus enhancing their learning.

GREEN LAND SR.SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVES POLICE MARTYRS' DAY 2023

Police Martyrs' Day 2023 was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School to pay tribute to the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of these police officers who laid down their lives to maintain law and order and protect the community.

On the occassion seminar and Power Point Presentation was organised for the students of class XI - XII wherein students highlighted the importance of police, laws and order, various designations of police officers, their ranks and ways of recruitment. The students also observed 2 minutes of silence for the souls of departed heroes.

Capacity Building Programme for Teachers on NEP 2020 & NCF Organized at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School by Former CBSE Chairman, Ashok Ganguly

Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School hosted an enriching Capacity Building Program for teachers, delving into the aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 & National Curriculum Frame Work. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of former CBSE Chairman, Mr. Ashok Ganguly, who provided invaluable insight into the reformative aspects of the policy. Also present on the occasion were the Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Dr. Jyoti, Mrs. Ritu ,Mrs. Geetika , around 30 Principals and teachers from reputed CBSE schools of Ludhiana.

The orientation program aimed to equip teachers with a comprehensive understanding of the NEP 2020 and its implications for the Indian education system. Mr. Ganguly, with his vast experience in the field, served as the perfect guide for the event.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and an introductory note from the Principal of school Mrs. Baldeep Pandher. In his closing remarks, Mr. Ganguly commended Green Land Schools for taking proactive steps in preparing its teachers to adapt to the transformative changes brought about by NEP 2020. He encouraged teachers to embrace the spirit of the policy and to be the champions of change within their classrooms.

Green Land Sr.Sec.Public School, Ludhiana hosted Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Inter School Radio Jockey Competition, offering students from Grade VIII-XII a chance to embark on a transformative journey of self-expression and refine their oratory skills. This esteemed event not only nurtured their communication abilities but also instilled a steadfast sense of poise.

As many as 20 students from 10 CBSE schools participated in the competition. Ms.Rini Sharma and Ritu Sharma, Radio Jockey of All India Radio, Ludhiana, were the judges.

The students presented the show on theme social vices and school chronicles navigating students life . They presented witty radio jockey acts filled with fun, humour and songs. The students left the judges awe-struck as they presented their talent so immaculately and effortlessly.

A ‘Science Quiz Competition’ for classes IV and V was held at Greenland Sen.Sec.Public School, Ludhiana .There were 4 teams in total comprising of 4 students each. The competition was segregated into four rounds having question-answer sessions, buzzer round, along with visual round and brain storming round.

All students participated in the competition with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. The audience along with enlightenment also received small prizes on answering the questions.

HINDI POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION HELD AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was organised at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public school to enhance the power of imagination and love for poetry among students. The students of class VI & VII enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition inspired the young poets to come forward and recite on stage. The students came up with different poems on the topics :-Importance of Hindi Language, Awareness Regarding Usage of Drugs, real Friendship, Indian Festivals, G-20, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava and recited them with great fondness and zeal.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that such activities help children to develop confidence, improve vocabulary and also help them to get rid of stage fear.

The Principal of the School, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher applauded the efforts of all the participants .She also added that in the actual teaching process, reciting has often been overlooked easily but it is the basic means of developing language ability. So, we always seek spontaneous involvement of our students to tread on the path of development.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANISES PUNJABI & HINDI DECLAMATION ON TOBACCO FREE INDIA

To raise awareness among the students regarding Tobacco and its harmful effects, Hindi Declamation was organised at Green land Sr.Sec. Public School for classes VIl-IX. The topics for the Hindi declamation were ‘ Nasha Mukt Bharat’, ‘Nasha Aur Yuva Piddi’ and Punjabi were ‘Nojawan and Nasha’ , ‘Nasha Naash Karda’, ‘Nasha Jindgi da Vinash’. The students through their speeches highlighted the risks involved in the chewing of tobacco. Their vision took everyone to a realm of vibrant life and also quintessentially educated them about the effects of tobacco on society and possible preventive measures to reduce its consumption.

AWARENESS ACTIVITIES AGAINST USAGE OF TOBACCO ORGANISED AT GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL

To highlight the health risk associated with tobacco use, a week long TOBACCO free activity ” was observed at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School to make students aware about the health risks associated with tobacco use, which includes smoking and smokeless tobacco products. All the children together took a vow that they would never smoke or consume tobacco in their life.

During the week , special assemblies were organised for the students of class VI -XII wherein they were highlighted about the about the harmful effects of tobacco use and the effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. The students through their speeches articulated their thoughts and feelings.

A Poster making activity was organized for students of class VII-XII wherein maximum students participated to spread awareness about the dangers of using tobacco by making fabulous and thought-provoking posters and charts.

The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr.Rajesh Rudhra said that by actively involving students in anti-smoking campaigns, education programs, and advocacy initiatives, we empower them to make informed choices and resist the pressures of tobacco use. It is through their collective efforts that we can create a healthier future, free from the grip of tobacco addiction.
